UNDERGROUND WATER TANKS CLEANING SCOPE

INTRODUCTION
The intent of this scope is to outline the general expectations of the Underground Water Tanks
cleaning. In general terms, this scope shall leave the tanks and tanks accessories in a “like new”
condition.

The contractor will execute the cleaning activities on Underground Tank for Oil Refining
Complex 02, BYCO PETROLEUM PAKISTAN LIMITED (BPPL) at Mouza Kund Plant, District Hub,
Baluchistan.

This document will cover the cleaning of following Underground tanks,

1 DAF Product Tank 696 (12mx29m)
2 UF Filtrate Tank 238 (7mx17m)
3 Brine Tank 168 (7mx12m)

CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBLITIES
1. As a requirement of this proposal, Contractor shall submit with his bid the estimated
time to clean an individual tank.
2. Contractor shall inspect each individual tank prior to performing any work. This will be
done to demonstrate the tanks are devoid of damage prior to cleaning. Any damage to
the tanks will be the responsibility of the contractor.
3. Contractor shall note any existing damage to the tanks. Contractor shall immediately
notify BPPL of such.
4. Cleaning equipment, tools, ventilation & lighting arrangement will be the scope of
contractor.
5. Vehicle to be used for emptying out the sludge/water must be diesel driven and its
maintenance, fuel and other associated works will be the responsibility and scope of
contractor.
6. Contractor shall empty the tanks and clean all surfaces of foreign materials.
7. Contractor shall clean of all mineral buildup and foreign material.
8. Contractor shall clean all strainers, piping surfaces of all foreign materials.
9. Contractor shall carry out all the debris, foreign material, sludge etc out of the refinery
premises.

10. BPPL strictly follows all standards and procedures of EHS. All workers should wear
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s), like coverall, safety helmet, safety shoes, safety
gloves etc. All required PPE’s to be provided by Contractor.
11. Permit to work system should be followed by contractor as per BPPL requirements.
Contractor shall provide and maintain First Aid Facilities on the site for his employees.
12. Contractor is required to sign-in daily at facility security desk.
13. Contractor is required to sign-out at facility security desk upon completion of the day’s
tasks.
14. Prior to returning tanks to service, Contractor shall verify with Owner no damage has
occurred during the cleaning process.
15. Contractor will be responsible for arrangement for lunch for it’s employees during the
course of cleaning project.

BPPL’S CHARGES AND SUPPLY SCOPE

16. BPPL will ensue that all the safety procedure are strictly followed by Contractor as per
BPPL policies.
17. BPPL will not be responsible for transport and accommodation for contractor employees
