Monologue 1
When I was a kid my uncle was a miller and he was my inspiration. Because I always saw how
hard he worked at his job he was always trying to do his best. He didn’t earn that much money
but he always do his best to get me what u want and always appreciated that. I remember that he
always used to tell me how money wasn’t important because the only thing that was important in
life was being happy all the other stuff didn’t matter. So that is why he was so important to me
he always keep being positive no matter what the situation was. And one thing that really
impressed me was that he is the only miller in my family and that is something very brave to do
because all of my other members in my family where doctors and lawyers but he didn’t wanted
that he always said choose your heart not your mind. And in the other hand my family wasn’t
very happy because it was like a family tradition to be a doctor or a lawyer. But my uncle really
didn’t care because that’s what he wanted to do and that’s makes him very especial.
It was the first Day of May I remember like it was yesterday me and my uncle went for a
vacation to Hawaii and it was awesome. All the fun things we did like go to the beach play
sports, dance, run and eat amazing Hawaiian foods. That was one of the happiest days of my life
because I enjoy it very much and not to mention that going to Hawaii was on of my dream
because every time I watch a movie of Hawaii it looked like the people that where in Hawaii
were having a lot of fun doing amazing thing like surfing in the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. So
that makes me the desire to go and explore Hawaii and thanks to my incredible uncle we did it.
And it felt like we were on a dream but thankfully it wasn’t a dream so I can say that my uncle is
a very loving and incredible person because without having much money he lived his life at the
fullest and he became one of my childhood dreams into a reality. And I will always thanks him
for that because he could of go alone or with some friends but instead of doing that he took me to
Hawaii so my dream could became a reality.

We arrived to my moms house and we were so happy to see all my family members waiting for
us. We celebrated that we were back in Puerto Rico with a huge party. And that’s are all of my
favorite memory’s with my uncle. 4 years later Began a pandemic called COVID 19 and it was
very dangerous. So dangerous that my uncle got the disease and I was very sad not just because
my uncle got the disease but because my birthday was in 1 week and my uncle couldn’t go
because it wasn’t save for my other’s family members and it wasn’t safe for him too because he
needed to rest. So we decided to get my uncle out of my birthday invites it was sad but it was
the necessary thing to do because safety comes first. And after all of that drama I started to think
What do I want to study? And my first thing that goes into my mind is no other thing but being
a mill since my uncle was my inspiration so I said why not follow his steps. Because I am
already in university and I am about to be 18 years old. So yea I was very brave that day I talked
to my mom about me being a mill and my mom wasn’t very happy because of my family
traditions of being a doctor or a lawyer but she said whatever makes you happy go for it. So I
was very happy that she said that. 2 weeks later and it was time for my birthday party all of my
friends and family members were literally everyone was in that party except my uncle because of
Covid 19. But that didn’t stoped him of calling me and wishing me a happy birthday. The party
was on fire everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves but there was a problem we couldn’t
be so close because of COVID 19. But we still manage to dance and enjoy the party.Everyone
was singing happy birthday to me and then the party was over.
Monologue 2

2 months later I began university and I was thinking of dropping out because I wanted to be a
mill. But my family said this to me you can become a Doctor or a lawyer and be a mill like a part
time job and it wasn’t a bad idea so i took the offer that my family brought up to me. And I
continued with my university studies. My family was so proud of me because I was doing good
in the university. But the person that was more proud of me was definitely my uncle. Because he
wanted me to continue with my university studies because was the safest route to become
successful and not just that I was in a university but also the fact that I also became a mill that
was the thing that made him more proud. So I became the two things that I wanted to become a
doctor and a mill so I was very peaceful about that there was no inconvenience for me to be a
mill or to be a doctor. Time passed and I finished university that’s was one of my favorite days
of my entire life my family were so happy for me especially my uncle we celebrated like never
before we did a huge party at my uncles house so he can feels special because if it wasn’t being
so supportive to me I don’t know I would of became a doctor or even a mill. So all of my
achievements is in honors for my uncle. He did the impossible to make me happy and now it my
turn to make him happy.

After all the celebrating that we did in my graduation party I became one of the best doctors and
mill of all the country. And with all the money that I earn from being a mill and a doctor I have a
little bit to my uncle so he can retire safely and without any worries. Because in that day forward
I promise to myself that I will never but never see my uncle suffered because he deserve to be
happy because if it wasn’t for the happiness he contributed to me I really don’t know where I
was going to be. And one thing that I learn from him was that money isn’t everything if you do
what you really love because money is just a life of paper but love is something that cannot be
replace.
