PRINTERS

A printer is an electronic device that plays an important role in producing physical

prints of documents or images that previously existed in digital form. The printer is usually
divided into several parts, the picker is a tool for taking paper from the tray. The tray is a
place to put paper.
Ink or toner is the actual printing tool, because there is something called ink or toner
which is used to write/print on paper. The difference between toner and ink is a system
difference; toner or laser requires heating, while ink or inkjet does not require heating, only
cleaning of the printer's print head.
Quoted from the official HP website, the first electronic printer was made by the
Epson company which was launched in 1968. The first type of printer that was successfully
developed was named EP-101.
Initially, printers that were sold freely still used electric typewriters. Then because
many people needed faster printer capabilities, Epson printers were developed specifically
just for computers.
Here are some uses of printers that you need to know :
 Print the document
 Print photos
 Scan and copy files
 Fax
Types of Printers :
1. Dot Matrix Printers

5. Laser Printers
Thermal printers have several advantages that other printers in general may not have,
including the following.
 The printing process does not require ink or cartridges.
 Easy to use and operate due to the small number of buttons.
 The printing process does not make any noise,
 Thermal printers are relatively cheap and available in various sizes and models.
 The document printing process is relatively fast.
 Thermal printers can last longer than other types of printers.

Meanwhile, laser printers are a type of printer that is relatively expensive, but can
produce the best prints. This printer has a speed of printing around 229 pages every minute.
Meanwhile, other printers only have a speed of 4-25 pages per minute. Apart from that, this
printer can also produce very good and neat quality printed characters.
Apart from that, there are several advantages of laser printers:
 High quality text printing.
 High print speed.
 Can print various paper sizes.
 Has a variety of options including collators and staplers.
 Overall costs are lower due to small ink requirements.
