Subject: Application for Promoting or Retake the semester examination due to Head Injury Accident.
Dear Chairman,
I hope this application finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate
incident involving my academic performance that was affected due to a head injury accident. I am a dedicated student
pursuing (Information Technology / 4th Year) Student at Shah Abdul Latif University, and I am writing to request
your consideration for either a promote or a retake in the examination.
On 15 June 2023, I had a serious head injury accident which resulted in a concussion and subsequent medical
treatment. As a result, I have been experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating, which have
significantly impacted my ability to study and prepare for the exams.
I have been under the care of a specialist medical practitioner who has advised me to take complete rest and allow
sufficient time for my brain to recover. This recovery process has hindered my ability to perform optimally in my
studies and has affected my overall academic progress.
I am aware that the university has established guidelines and policies regarding exceptional circumstances that affect a
student's academic performance. In light of the severity of my head injury and its impact on my studies, I kindly
request you to consider the following options:
1. Promotion: I kindly request that you evaluate my academic performance in the previous assessments and
assignments to determine if I have demonstrated satisfactory progress throughout the semester. If my performance
meets the requirements for promotion to the next level, I kindly request that you consider promoting me based on my
overall academic standing.
2. Retake in Examination: If my previous performance is not deemed sufficient for promotion, I humbly request an
opportunity to retake the affected examination(s) once I have sufficiently recovered from my head injury. This would
allow me to demonstrate my true abilities and compensate for the setbacks caused by my accident.
I understand that any decision regarding my request will be made in accordance with the university policies and
regulations. I am willing to provide any additional documentation or medical records required to support my case.
