ACTIVITY 10

Instructions:

A. Work with someone and record his/her heart rates in the following manner.

B. Resting heart rate using palpation method:96bpm

Briefly discuss what you observe.

I can feel the relaxing pulse rate, which are in a steady and normal rate per second.

C. Heart rate after jogging in place for 5 mins: using palpation method: 132bpm

How do you compare the recorded heart rate from the resting heart rate?

When I checked my partner's pulse rate after five minutes of jogging, it was normal for her
pulse to beat quicker during exertion, allowing more fluid to escape her system.

Why do you think such change occurred?

The pulse rate test statistic controls how efficiently and quickly your pulse should pump
during activity and at rest. Your pulse continues to beat in order to regulate blood flow in
your body.

D. Have your partner rest for 10 mins then assess his/her heart rate once more: palpation
method: 90bpm

How do you compare the recorded heart rate from the exercise heart rate and that of the
resting heart rate?

Her pulse rate returned to normal after 10 minutes of rest, indicating that when you exercise
and engage in certain activities, your pulse rate rises.

Why do you think such change happened?

The pulse rate decreased quickly after 10 minutes of relaxation, and it likely continued to drop,
albeit considerably more gently, into its resting state. This means that after jogging, her heart
starts beating harder, resulting in a faster pulse.
