Bible Games

In the exciting pages below, you’ll find instructions and pieces for ten quick and easy Bible games that are
based on a game called ZERO. (aka ZONK.) To play ZERO, kids try to collect as many points as possible
without getting a ZERO piece that ends their turn and deletes their points. Here’s how to play.

Get Ready! Get Set! Let’s Go!

Make lots of pieces with Explain to the kids that when they Let the teams (or individual kids in

answering Bible questions and

Now that you know the basic way to play, you can choose a Bible game below to print and play the next
time you teach kids. You can even use the Bible questions on page 4 to help you get started!

TEN WAYS TO PLAY ZERO

#1. BASIC ZERO [Page 5]
Just print the pieces, cut them apart, put them in a bag or box, and
play according to the basic instructions above.

#2. ZERO HEARTS [Page 6]

Follow the basic ZERO instructions above. Use this Bible game for reviewing lessons
about love, hiding God’s Word in our hearts, or Valentine’s Day.

#3. DINO ZERO [Page 7]

Use this Bible game just for fun or to review lessons about creation or science. To make it more fun, have
the kids roar like a dinosaur each time they grab a card from the container. You can also let kids try to
guess which kind of dinosaur is pictured on each card. (100=Ankylosaurs, 200=Velociraptor,
300=Stegosaurus, 400=Triceratops, 500=Protoceratops, 600=Apatosaurus, ZERO=T-rex and Allosaurus.)

#4. DARK/LIGHT [Page 8]
Use this Bible game to review lessons about Jesus rescuing people from the darkness of sin or being the
light of world. The rules are the same for this version of the game, but with DARK pieces instead of ZEROs.
For extra fun, have a volunteer briefly turn off the lights each time someone gets a DARK piece.

#5. COUNTING SHEEP [Page 9]

Use this Bible game to review lessons about the Good Shepherd or Psalm 23. In this version of ZERO sheep
and gates have replaced the points and ZERO pieces. Children collect points every time they get a sheep
card, but if they get a gate card it means they left the gate open. They lose all their sheep for that turn. For
extra fun, have kids “Baaaaaa!” like a sheep during their turn.

#6. ZERO BILLION [Page 10)

This version of ZERO follows the basic rules, but uses huge point values to get the kids excited. You can use
this Bible game to review or emphasize the truth that God’s wisdom and knowledge are beyond our
comprehension. Build excited during this game by keeping track of points on a whiteboard so kids can see
the huge numbers of points they are winning.

#7. WILD ZERO [Page 11]

In this game, children (or their entire team) must act like a wild animal to earn the points on each piece
they collect. Instructions for each action are included on the pieces. If kids in your class won’t enjoy acting
like wild animals, you can really make it fun by having a teacher complete the actions on every card that’s
collected! You can use this version of ZERO to review lessons about creation or Noah’s ark.

#8. ZERO FISH [Page 12]

This Bible game is a great way to catch the attention of kids as you review Bible lessons that involve fish
such as Jesus calling the disciples or the miracle of feeding the 5,000. Follow the basic ZERO rules and have
kids count the number of fish they collect to determine how many points they win. If they collect a ZERO
piece they lose all their points and their turn is over. If possible, you could even use a spray bottle to gen-
tly mist the kids and pretend they fell in the fishing hole each time a ZERO is chosen.

#9. BIRTHDAY ZERO [Page 13] *This game works best in classrooms with 15 students or more.

When a child answers a Bible question, he may grab pieces one at a time and announce which month is
written on them. He wins 100 points for each child in the class that has a birthday in that month. He may
continue choosing pieces and winning points as long as he chooses. But if he chooses a month with no
birthdays OR the month of his own birthday, his turn is over and he gets ZERO points from that turn.

#10. PRESENT POINTS [Pages 14-15]

Print the pieces front to back so that presents are on the front and
points/ZEROs are on the back. Arrange the pieces on a table or floor
with the present pictures facing up. Allow children to turn over piece
after piece to collect as many points as possible without getting a ZERO.
After each turn, flip the pieces back over and mix them together before the next turn.
