Juli, 17 2006 to be exact on Monday throughout the island of
Java an earthquake with a magnitude of 6,8 liters. While the affected areas include the province of West Java, province Central Java and Yogyakarta. The earthquake is estimated to occur at 15:19 western Indonesian.
Slightly shifted from Yogyakarta, Klaten district was also
affected by the earthquake. Dozens of houses suffered light or heavy damage. This condition was known from my mother, who saw and experienced for herself how scary the 2006 earthquake was. “The streets that are usually used for activities cracked until they were split open, then many houses with half of the buildings collapsed, fortunately this house did not suffer serious damage," her said. And this incident left quite a deep trauma.
