Salary Changes
by Industry in the philippines
Salaries in the Philippines remain largely stable, with the fluctuation of job ads with changed salaries
within 2%, except for the Entertainment industry at 5.49%. This can be attributed to consumers cutting
down on non-essential spending, which has directly impacted the demand for entertainment-related
services and resulted in adjustments to salaries within the industry. The decrease on non-essential
spending may have led to reduced revenue and profitability for entertainment companies, prompting them
to make salary adjustments accordingly.

HIRING advice
Hiring Advice: Summar y
Summary
The median salary in the Philippines has exhibited a steady trend, showing minimal fluctuations across
1
most sectors when comparing year-on-year data. This stability in median salaries highlights a consistent job
market landscape for employers and professionals in the country.
2 Despite a decline in job ads within the Computer/IT specialization (-18.0%) this year, the median salary
continues to exhibit a year-on-year increase. This signifies growth in compensation for professionals in the
sector, especially in the Rank & File (0.83%) position. This trend highlights the strong demand for entry-level
IT professionals, driving up salaries despite potential job market challenges.
3 Reduced job ads in the Computer/IT, Manufacturing, and Telecommunication sectors result in lower median
salaries, indicating a negative compensation trend. Factors such as technological advancements, economic
conditions, and market fluctuations contribute to decreased demand and limited job opportunities,
impacting salary levels in these industries.
4 SMEs in the Philippines' Call Center / BPO , Food & Beverage , and Retail & Trade industries are attracting
skilled talent by offering higher median salaries compared to corporate companies. This demonstrates the
competitiveness of SMEs and their ability to remain competitive in the job market. SMEs' flexibility and
agility allow them to adapt swiftly to market changes and customer demands, attracting skilled
professionals through higher salaries as an incentive.
5 The higher median salaries offered by SMEs in specializations like Services, Sales/Marketing,
Hotel/Restaurant, and Sciences can be attributed to their competitive advantage in attracting skilled
professionals. Factors such as operating in niche markets, facing intense talent competition, and having
greater flexibility in compensation structures contribute to SMEs' ability to allocate resources towards more
competitive salaries, making them an appealing choice for professionals in specialized fields.
