The Negative Impact of The Willow Project

Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about the Willow Project. It is stated by the
citizen that this project will cause a very dangerous impact to our mother
nature. First of all, what is a Willow Project. Many rumors have been said that
this project will cause damage to every living creature in this planet earth
including ourselves, human. It is not true about this project. This Willow
Project is an oil drilling project by ConocoPhillips located on the plain of the
North Slope of Alaska in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska. The project
was originally to construct and operate up to five drill pads for a total of 250
oil wells. Associated infrastructure includes access and infield roads, airstrips,
pipelines, a gravel mine and a temporary island to facilitate module delivery
via sealift barges on permafrost and between waters managed by the state of
Alaska.
According to Wikipedia, It is given the name “Willow Project” because there is
oil discovered in the Willow prospect area west of Alpine, Alaska in 2016 and
in October 2020.The rumours been spreading and said that many negative
impacts will affect every living creature that lives in our beloved planet earth.
The first negative impact is the Arctic warming will be four time faster than
usual this can cause the sea level increases and causing a flood in any country
around the world. Next, this project can also cause animal that lives in the
arctic lost their habitat. This problem is caused by the rapid global warming
that happen since they started the project . Besides, animals, plants and
human will lose the source of food. A lot of citizens have done some
observation and realize that the food stock in the grocery store decreasing
rapidly. Many people have been struggling to buy and search for food not to
mention the Africans. Lastly, there is a lot of risk that any form of oil spill can
be extremely harmful to our mother nature even the animals, plants, and
humans.
In my opinion, The Willow Project gives a lot of negative impact that can cause
natural disaster like flood, wildfire even tsunami can happen anytime at
anywhere in our planet earth. I appeal the people of earth together unite to
stop The Willow Project for the sake of saving mankind, the lives of plants and
animals so that we can live in peace and harmony. In conclusion, The Willow
Project is very harmful to our planet because in can cause a detrimental
effect to our planet earth.
