2 Produce green soap from used palm oil

Step 1: Engange

LEARNING : Teacher using Microsoft Sway to present the information.

Teacher show a video about problems that will arise if throwing used cooking oil into
ACTIVITIES the sink.
Teacher relate the video with today’s activities ‘producing green soap’ using used
palm oil.

Step 2: Explore
Teacher show a demonstration on how to produce Green Soap using Used Palm Oil.
Students conduct “Producing Green Soap using Used Palm Oil” project in groups by
using the procedure and materials provided.
Teacher give choice to students to choose the essential oils, soap mould and soap
based or Lye

Step 3: Explain
Students present their green soap and explain how they produce the soap in the group
presentation.

Step 4: Elaborate
In this phase, students further elaborate the activities carried out and how they would
apply this proper waste management to a new situation.

Step 5: Evaluate
Teachers give posttest to evaluate student’s knowledge, attitude and creativity towards
food waste management. Students also summarized what they had learned and
understand during the activities.
