SIAY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL HOSTS
ANNUAL ORIENTATION EVENT
Siay National High School's
annual school orientation event
was a day-long session held on
September 1, 2023, which
provided students and faculty
essential insights into the school's
policies and guidelines. The event
was conducted in SNHS's main
campus covered court and started
at 7:30 AM and ended at 9:22 AM
for grade 11 learners, while grade
7 learners had their session from
2 PM to 3 PM. The orientation
opened with a solemn prayer and
the national anthem.
The proceedings began with the
opening remarks of Dr. Lhorelle
L. Cabalida, Ed.D. In her speech,
she highlighted the significance
of collaboration among school
administrators, students, and
parents to ensure a productive
academic year. Her message set
the tone for the informative
session.
One of the essential parts of
the orientation was the school's
core mission and vision presented
by Dr. Lhorelle L. Cabalida, Ed.D.
She eloquently articulated the
school's commitment to providing
quality education, emphasizing
the importance of academic
excellence.

Mrs. Aubrey D. Cariaga
delivered a talk on the school's
library policies. She explained the
importance of maintaining a
conducive learning environment
and responsible use of library
resources. She stressed that the
library is not only a hub of
resources but a sanctuary for
learning.
Another significant segment of
the orientation was the talk given
by Mrs. Sheila Marie Amigo on
the science laboratory policies.
She outlined the importance of
safety in the laboratory and
proper hands-on learning
experiences for students. She also
emphasized the need for
teachers' supervision, and
students were prohibited from
engaging in unsafe activities
without handling equipment.
Nurse Mitos Braza presented
the school's health protocols,
which focused on the ongoing
health concerns. She highlighted
the importance of ensuring
students' well-being in light of the
current health situation. Her talk
provided guidance on how to stay
healthy and safe while at school.
Ma'am Darlene Gay Cantigua
discussed the school's compre-
hensive policies or the
"Kasunduan." She addressed
various aspects of school life,
from attendance to discipline to
the length of boys' hair. She also
emphasized the need to wear a
school uniform, and if there is no
school uniform, children should
wear a white shirt. Her talk was
vital in setting the expectations of
students and establishing the
school's rules and regulations.
Sir Earl Bryan Pantollana led
a discussion on DEPED ORDER 8,
which provided clarity on how
student performance is assessed
and evaluated. He focused on the
grading system and computation
and ensured that the students
understood how their
performance would be assessed.
Mrs. Mary Ann Bongawil
presented DEPED ORDER 8
awards, recognizing honor
students and special awards for
athletes and leadership. Her talk
celebrated academic excellence
and students' achievements
beyond the classroom.
The event concluded with
the closing remarks of Mrs.
Mariza O. Silva, who summarized
the importance of following the
school's policies and guidelines.

academic year.
The orientation event was an
excellent platform for students to
gain a deeper understanding of
the school's mission, vision, and
policies. It reiterated the school's
commitment to providing a safe

students, laying the foundation
for a successful academic year.

Siay National High School celebrated
Buwan ng Wika with the theme "Wika ng
Kapayapaan, Seguridad, at Ingklusibong
Pagpapatupad ng Katarungang Panlipunan."
The event, which lasted from 3 pm to 4:25
pm, included an opening prayer and the
singing of the national anthem. The program
was emceed by Mrs. Cristine Joy Hidalgo and
Mrs. Dazzle Basarte, with opening remarks
from Mrs. Jenelyn Verallo. Grade 7 students
performed an intermission number, and Mrs.
Nelia Selga gave a heartfelt message. The
event featured intermission numbers from
students in grades 7 to 12, showcasing their
talents. Competitions were also held, with
judges presiding over the poster- and slogan-
making contests. Ma'am Amy Gilbolingo, Sir
Brayan Selen, and Sir Niño Daligdig as
judges for poster-making contest, and Ma'am
Winna Lagona, Ma'am Lovely Benemile, and
Ma'am Marjuneth Muñez as judges for the
slogan-making contest. The celebration
emphasized the values of peace, security, and
social justice while honoring the Filipino
language and indigenous dialects, promoting
cultural pride and unity.
