 Masha A-ngawk Masum a Lam

1. Moi moi e masha la masum gaw, Mali hka kaw hka li yawng nna, hpaga ga na myit

ma ai. Raitim mung shanhte gaw, li nlu ma ai majaw, kaga masha langai mi kaw li shap

ma ai.

2. Dai li madu gaw, “Nanhte nye a li shamat kau ya na myit dai,” nga nna a shap ya

hkraw ai. Shaloi shanhte gaw, “Li mat jang, anhte bai daw wa na ga ai,” ngu mu ai. Shing

nga jang, dai wa gaw li shap ya dat mu ai.

3. Dai masha masum gaw li jawn nna, Mali hka hta yawng hkrat wa ma ai. Shanhte

gaw danam langai mi kaw du jang, dai li hpe, “Ndai danam hta naw hkring ga,” ngu mu

ai. Raitim mung dai li gaw lai mat wa ai rai.

4. Shing rai yawng hkrat wa yang, jan du jang mare langai mi kaw du pru ma ai. Shaloi

dai li hpe bai tsun mu ai gaw, “Daina nang e naw yup ga ngu mu ai.” Dai li gaw nchye na

5. Shaloi shanhte gaw, “Hking mayu ai shara the nhkring; nang de danam nre ai kaw

hkring ai,” nga nna masin pawt ai majaw dai li hpe gayet ga kau ma ai. Shanhte gaw

hpung-yawt pru wa nhtawm, nhtang wa mat wa ai.

6. Dai ni gaw li madu hta du wa nna li ga mat ai lam tsun dan mu ai. Li madu gaw,

“Nanhte tsun ai hte maren li bai daw ya mi” ngu mu ai. Shaloi shanhte gaw, “N-wa ya

nna li daw na hpun sha madun mi,” nga ma ai.

7. Dai li madu hpun hpe sa madun jang, shanhte sa hkran mu ai. Dai hpun daw wa na ni

jang, ga mat na hpe hkrit ai majaw, marai langai mi hpun ndung e lung jum nga ai.

Langai mi gaw npawt e akran nga ai majaw, dai hpun gaw daw nga wa ai. Shaloi langai

mi gaw ga e hpun hpe lata hte hkap madi wu ai.

8. Dai hpun daw wa jang, hpun ndung e jum ai wa hte ga e jum ai yan gaw si mat ma ai.

Hpun kran ai wa sha ngam nna, kaga de bai dam hkawm mat wa ai rai.
 About Three Stupid Men

1. Long long ago, there were three men planned to run a business with boat in Mali

river. But they borrowed a boat to a man because they didn’t have.

2. That the owner of the boat said, “You’ll lose my boat,” and he didn’t want to

borrow. At that time, they replied, “We’ll redeem a new one if we lose it.” So the owner

lent his boat them.

3. That three men rode on a boat and went to the downriver of the Mali river. They told

to the boat when they arrived a place of continental shelf, “ Stay here,” but the boat was

gone out.

4. Then that boat appeared at a village in the evening. At that time, they told that boat

again, “Let’s sleep here tonight.” As the boat couldn’t understand and was gone out

again. It was beached on a wrack in the middle of water at midnight.

5. At that time, they told the boat, “ You didn’t stop the place that we had told you

then you also didn’t stop at continental shelf.” After that they busted the boat as they

were angry therefore they returned back by swimming.

6. When they arrived to the boat owner and told about the boat was broken. Thus the

owner told them, “ Now, give me the new one as you had told me.” At that time, they

asked, “ Just show us the trees to do a new boat.”

7. They went to hew the trees when the owner showed. The time that was near to fall

down, one of them climbed on the top of the tree to hang on with his hands as they were

afraid that the trees would be broken. The tree was going to fall down as the other one

was hewing on the ground. At that time, the next one was waiting to catch the tree with

his hands.

8. When the tree was falling down, the man who was hanging on the tree and the man

who was waiting to catch the tree died. So there was left only a man and he also was

roaming.
