Challenge:

Step 1: Write down in a paragraph or two what you thinkabout is the mission is of the company you
are working for.
● If your company has a clearly defined mission statement, this might be easy. Iy, but if not, you
might have to go looking for it.
● Even if it is clearly defined, think about what other 'implicit't things there might be that your
company cares about. Most companies, for example, won't explicitly call out making money
as part of their mission, but it usually is something that will play into helping it achieve its
mission.

Step 2: Consider the application, (or a piece of the application,) that you are currently working on .on.
How does it help the company achieve its mission? Write down a paragraph or two summarizing
your thoughts on this.

Step 3: Make a list of what you think would be the top three3 issues in the part of the software you
work on that are preventing it from delivering as much value towards the companiescompany’s
mission as it could be.
● Don't just consider bugs. I, as it could be things like build pipelines, or poor communication,
or other things.s

Step 4: Sshare what you have written with others in your organization for discussion and feedback.
● This could be with your manager, or other testers, or anyone in the company who wants to
talk about this.
● Try to be open to listening to what they think and, what insights they have, and identify where
when they don't understand what you are saying.

My Solution:

[1)] The mission of my company is to transform the way the world learns. We want to use
technology to ensure that everyone has access to the best possible learning opportunities.
We want to drive positive change in the world and remove as many barriers to education as
we can. That means having a focus on accessibility and in making our product as easy to use
as as possible. Of course, no mission like this can exist without funding, and so our
company also seeks to be profitable and deliver a high- quality product ats a reasonable
price.
[2)] The part of the product I am currently working on is intended to help our customers better
leverage competency -based education models. It will help change the way people learn and
help educators better engage with and teach learners. It will also make it easier for learners to
set up self directedself-directed learning and engage in continuous education.
[3)] Some of the challenges we face right now are: (1) the different needs of different client
segments, (2) Mmissing automation slowing us down in getting new features delivered, and
(3) Ddifficulty integrating into an existing complex system.
