Memorandum of Understanding

Between the
Southern Asia Division of Seventh-day Adventists
and Jesus for Asia, Inc.

This Memorandum of Understanding (hereafter referred to as “MOU”) is made and entered into
on this ____ day of ________, 2019 (“Effective Date”) by and between:

Jesus for Asia, Inc., a supporting ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, PO Box 1221,
Collegedale, TN 37315; and

Southern Asia Division of Seventh-day Adventists, Jeevan Jyothi Campus, Avalapalli Hudco,
Hosur, Tamil Nadu 635110

1. Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this MOU is to set forth the terms and conditions, scope of work and responsibili-
ties of the parties associated with their collaboration on evangelistic work in the countries of In-
dia and Nepal.

Specifically, both parties will cooperate to fulfill the Gospel Commission by working together to
field volunteer Bible workers, build churches and other activities of this sort as the needs and op-
portunities arise.

2. Background
Southern Asia Division has been in existence for over 100 years and is very well adapted to the
country, the culture and the legal climate to operate in this vast field. And yet the territory covers
nearly 1/6th of the world’s population. With the large labor force of dedicated adventists in the
division, there is ample opportunity for partnership. Southern Asia Division has excellent skills
and trained personnel to manage a large workforce throughout the territory.

Jesus for Asia was incorporated in 2005 as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with the purpose of
helping the church in Asia to reach the teaming billions with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their
strategy is to engage the church in the west with the Gospel commission, Asia being the last final
frontier with the greatest number of unreached people groups of any continent.

3. Responsibilities
Jesus for Asia attempts to raise funds for the support of Bible worker volunteers in the Southern
Asia Division. Funds raised for these volunteers are transferred to the Division every month.
Upon receipt of funds the Division informs JFA of the rate of exchange. JFA then sends a list of
distribution for the Division who then forwards the funds to the respective units throughout the
Division’s territory.

Jesus for Asia has the permission to visit the different units, meet with the leaders of the respec-
tive units, inspect the work in the fields that the volunteers supported by JFA are assigned to,
make recommendations, communicate and cooperate and support the individual units (whether
they be regions, sections, conferences or unions) as they are able to arrange.

Jesus for Asia has a director for India and Nepal - Brother Israel Prasad - who represents JFA in
the Division and is the main overseer for the operation of the operations in India.

Units have the authority to hire and fire the Bible worker volunteers. They must report to JFA
every month via email regarding the names and number of workers working that month. They
may request more workers or inform of fewer workers needed.

4. Terms and Conditions

It is mutually understood and agreed by and between the parties that:

1. Each party works with the faith to cooperate as brothers in Christ for the sake of the
Gospel with no purpose of enriching or benefitting the individual, but with the eye solely for the
glory of God.

2. This MOU may be amended from time to time by mutual agreement of the parties in a
written modification signed by both parties.

3. This MOU may be terminated by mutual agreement of the parties, or by one of the par-
ties should there be a disruption of good relations.

5. Funding
All funding of projects or support of Bible worker volunteers is solely the responsibility of Jesus
for Asia and no monetary responsibility shall lay upon the Southern Asia Division for any work
or consideration that Jesus for Asia would like to do. No expectations for any funding will be en-
tertained, save the regular workers and leadership of the units to oversee the volunteers in the
course of their regular assigned duties. It is the purpose of the hiring of the volunteers to aid in
accomplishing the work assigned to these said leaders, therefor it is the aim of Jesus for Asia that
these volunteers be a blessing to the leaders in their work.

6. Effective Date and Signature

This Memorandum of Understanding shall be effective upon the date of the last party to sign this
MOU below. The parties indicate agreement with the MOU by their signatures below.
