Introduction
The skills of a person in the 21st century are a set of abilities that need to be
developed in order to succeed in the modern world. This period is the resumption
of globalization, the digital revolution, mass migration and the prospect of climate
instability. This reality makes it possible to clearly define the role of knowledge in
the lives of our youth .The concept of global competence formulates the
knowledge and skills needed by students in the 21st century. These are necessary
strategies for change, needed to create citizens, workers and leaders that our
society needs in the 21st century. This chapter examines three forces shaping life
on the planet: the downturn of the global economy and changing job requirements;
unprecedented global migration and the changing nature of areas of residence,
identity and citizenship; as well as climate instability and the growing need for
global environmental governance.
Conclusion
To sum up, global competencies are not specific skills, but a combination of
knowledge, skills, attitudes and values applied in personal or virtual interaction
with people who belong to a different cultural environment, and with participation
in solving global problems that do not have national borders and affect the lives of
current and future generations. I consider that education about global competence
is important because it is a multifaceted goal of lifelong learning. A globally
competent person is able to study local, global problems and issues of intercultural
interaction, understand and evaluate different points of view and worldviews,
successfully and respectfully interact with others, as well as act responsibly to
ensure sustainable development and collective well-being.

systems work. The author also wrote that students around the world deserve the
opportunity to succeed in the global economy and contribute to the quality of
global citizens.
In the text, the author shared with several reasons for the importance of
global competence
The first is to Weigh Perspectives.
Because, globally competent students can stratify and contrast their
perspective with others, and itegrate their own perspective and the perspective of
others to create a new one if necessary.
The second reason is Communicate Ideas
The author argues that globally competent students can situate themselves in
different cultural contexts, organize and participate in diverse groups, and work
effectively toward a common goal.
The next reason is Take Action
Globally compliant students provide and weigh options for action based on
evidence and understanding, they can evaluate their potential impact, taking into
account different perspectives and potential consequences for others.
