A Restaurant Review

xx Being a huge fan of traditional American fast food and

restaurant styles, it’s no wonder that my favorite restaurant
in Malaysia is California Cafe. This restaurant is rather special
and it is one of its largest chain outlet and has a superior
touch to it.
xx Located smack in the (middle/heart) of the city, this fast
food chain serves a wide variety of mouth-watering,
American dishes at a reasonable price. These range from
typical nachos or French fries to more elaborate meals like
homemade stick. If you are hungry, it’s the best place to fill
your stomach as their servings are absolutely generous and
sumptuous.
xx Another plus point is the ambience. This place is equipped
with magnificent decor. If you are a film buff, you will quickly
fall in love with this place since all the walls are covered with
famous movie poster, such as Titanic, James Bond, Enter the
Dragon etc. It has a spacious hall, super friendly waitresses
and an outdoor terrace which is absolutely fantastic!
xx The only negative thing is that right beside of this
restaurant is a gym. It makes me feel guilty for eating so
much! Nevertheless, California Café offers delicious meals is
an unbeatable atmosphere, so you should give it a try. I
promise you won’t regret it! Besides, you won’t burn a hole
in your pocket, that’s for sure!
A Book Review
xx I have just finished a wonderful book! That’s ‘Love, Ruby
Lavender’ is a realistic fiction book by Deborah Wiles. I think
this book would be the right reading level for students of
form 4 and form 5.
xx Ruby Lavender is a ten years old tomboy who lives in
Oakland, California. Her best friend is her grandmother, Miss
Eula Dapplevine. Over one busy summer, Ruby steals
chicken, Miss Eula goes to Hawaii, and they both have to deal
with the Ruby’s grandfather in a fatal car accident. Ruby’s
arch enemy, Melba Jane Latham, also causes trouble. We
learn about these events through letters between Ruby and
Miss Eula.
Xx I truly loved reading this book. The characters are
humorous, and the letters between them are interesting.
One of my favorite parts was when and how Melba Jane’s
hair turns blue. The author keeps you guessing about the
accident that killed Ruby’s grandfather and Melba Jane’s
father. At the end of the book, I wanted to keep reading to
find out what happened to the characters.
Xx I would recommend this book to anyone with sense of
humor and who cares about family. Don’t read this book if
you don’t like to laugh because they are so many funny
events. Some of the book is sad, but the sad parts are
important to tell. If you want to read about the hilarious
adventures of a girl and her chickens, then this is a book for
you.
A Movie Review
Xx One of the best movie that I have seen recently is called
‘Titanic’, a disaster and romantic film directed and written by
James Cameron, music by James Horner. The important
characters are Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson and Kate
Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater. ‘Titanic’ is a very moving
and gripping film.
Xx In the film we see that a ship called ‘Titanic’ sails out. The
people are very happy to board the ship. They consider it as
an unsinkable ship. In the first half of the movie Rose and
Jack fall in love. They are trying to be together although it is
not allowed because Rose if from the good family and Jack is
just a poor boy. Rose’s husband was very angry and wanted
to kill Jack. But in the other half of the movie, something
different happens. The ship hits an iceberg. Husband
complicated the escaping from the ship, and the ship is sank.
Jack and Rose were in ice cold water, Rose survived, because
she found a whistle and whistled to a rescuer. But
unfortunately, Jack died in ice cold water and till the end he
hold her hand.
Xx I have never liked other movies so much. This movie is the
best on my list. ‘Titanic’ is a movie which is perfect in every
aspect. Acting is perfect and music fits together well. I like it
very much and I will watch this movie again with a big
pleasure. In my opinion, ‘Titanic’ is a movie what goes to the
heart. It captures the soul. I would certainly recommend it to
anybody who likes movies about true love and about terrible
disaster.
