    The MV Leonidas, a Maltese-flagged vessel, called the Vizag port pilot station on October 31st, 2023 to report an estimated time of arrival of 11:00 LT at the pilot boarding ground, approaching from the northwest. However, as the pilot and tugboat proceeded to the boarding ground, the vessel changed course and did not respond to radio calls. The pilot waited at the boarding ground until 10:50 LT when they were informed the estimated time of arrival had changed to 16:15 LT. The pilot eventually boarded the vessel at 17:30 LT and disembarked at 18:36 LT.

    STATEMENT OF FACTS

    (PILOTAGE)

    Vessel : MV. Leonidas


    Flag : Malta
    Port : Vizag
    On Tuesday, 31st October 2023, at 08.38 LT vessel called by VHF Radio on Channel 14
    (recorded on pilot station radio log) at 08.50 LT to be informed ETA pilot boarding ground
    at 11.00 LT and ship approach from North West monitored by Operator of Pilot Station on
    AIS Chart Electronic Display Equipment. At the time of situation, the Operator’s
    immediately communicated with the Ship Agent (PT. Amanah Group Indonesia –
    Meulaboh) to submit Document supporting for Request of Pilot, that our received at 09.46
    LT.
    Based on above the situation, at 09.50 LT, Pilot and assist tug proceed to Pilot Bording
    Ground. During proceed to PBG, suddenly vessel MV. LEONIDAS was observed change the
    course and keep away from PBG, and Pilot tried to call by VHF on CH. 14 and 16, but no
    answer.

    At 10. 50 LT, Pilot arrived at Pilot Boarding Ground and awaiting the vessel.
    At 11.13 LT, Inform to agent, that MV. Leonidas change the course and no respond.
    At 11. 24 LT, Received info by agent, vessel ETA change to 16.15 LT.
    At 11.34 LT, Radio operator on duty, inform to Pilot, MV. LEONIDAS change ETA to 16.15
    LT.
    At 15.13 LT, Received information by agent, MV. LEONIDAS change ETA to 16.30 LT.
    At 17.30 LT, Pilot on board at MV. LEONIDAS.
    At 18.36 LT, Pilot Disembark.
