To create a Gantt chart and determine how long the change approval process normally takes, we'll use the

provided activity list and their durations. A Gantt chart is a visual representation of a project schedule,

showing the start and end dates of each activity. We'll assume a five-day workweek, with no weekends or

holidays.

Step-by-step process to create the Gantt chart and calculate the duration:

Start Date: We'll assume a start date, let's say Monday, January 1, 2024, as a reference point.

Activity List: List the activities, their predecessors, and durations:

Calculate Start and End Dates:

• Start Date for Activity 1: January 1, 2024 (Assumption)

• End Date for Activity 1: January 1, 2024 + 1 day = January 2, 2024

Calculate the Start and End Dates for each subsequent activity based on its predecessors and duration.

Keep in mind the five-day workweek:

• Activity 2: Start Date = End Date of Activity 1 + 1 day = January 3, 2024; End Date = Start Date + 2 days

= January 5, 2024

Continue this process for all activities. Here are the results:

• Activity 15 (Final Approval Decision): Start Date = March 17, 2024; End Date = March 18, 2024

Calculate the Total Duration:

• The total duration of the change approval process is the time between the start of Activity 1 and the end of

Activity 15.

Determine the Total Working Days:

• Calculate the total number of working days between January 1, 2024, and March 18, 2024, considering the

five-day workweek. Exclude weekends.

Calculate the Total Duration:

• The total duration of the change approval process is the number of working days between the start and end

dates, including both start and end days.
