Example of Syntax:
1. Sentence One: I had my laundry
Sentence Two: I had cleaned my laundry
2. Sentence One: Your bedroom is never clean
Sentence Two: Clean your bedroom never is.
3. Sentence One: We will go to the store tomorrow to get pickles.
Sentence Two: Tomorrow, we will go to the store to get pickles.
4. Sentence One: My best friend Mario, loves to cook.
Sentence Two: Mario, my best friend, loves to cook.
5. Sentence One: Every flower is a rose.
Sentence Two: Every rose is a flower.
Example of Semantics:
1. I hereby christen you Mary-Jane.
2. I promise you to be there at three.
3. I now pronounce you man and wife.
4. I am sitting next to David.

SYNTAX

Example of simple Syntax:


1. Tom went home.
2. His dog barks loudly.
3. My school starts at 8:00.
4. We always eat dinner together.
5. They take the bus to work.
Example of Compound Sentence:
1. Susan went to the groceries and Dinesh made a stop liquor store.
2. I’m going to the shop, for I have run out of milk.
3. I like swimming and I like running.
4. I have never been to France, nor I have been to Australia.
5. He has a dog, yet he wants a cat too.
Example of Complex Sentence:
1. Because he was late again, he would be docked a day’s play.
2. While I am passionate basketball fan, I prefer football.
3. Although she was considered smart, she failed all her exams.
4. Whenever it rains, I like to wear my blue coat.
5. Even though it was late, he continued working on the project.
Example of Compound-Complex Sentence:
1. Although we had difficulty deciding, we finally chose a destination, and Sam made a
travel arrangement.
2. I invited Bruno to the concert, but he can only go if one of us gives him a ride.
3. Though Mitchell prefers watching romantic films, he rented the latest spy thriller, and he
enjoyed it very much.
