ESSAY OUTLINE

TOPIC: Recycling should be mandatory for everyone

I. INTRODUCTION
a. Hook: To begin, recycling helps to help our environment. Go outside, can you see the stars? If not,
it’s because of pollution. Imagine walking down a forest path, feeling the crisp fall breeze, hearing
the birds chirping, breathing in the fresh air.
b. Thesis Statement: As a human living in this planet, we should take care our environment and
learn to recycle in order to reduce the amount of waste on planet Earth, and to preserve its
resources, so that is why recycling is significant. Not only does recycling allow the environment to
thrive, but it also allows living people to thrive as well.
c. Arguments: recycling can minimize pollution and conserve energy. It can also conserve natural
resources and lastly recycling can create jobs, producing economic benefit.

II.BODY PARAGRAPH 1:
a. Argument #1: Recycling can minimize pollution and conserve energy.
b. Example: For example, there is less demand for virgin materials when recycled materials are used
to create new items. By doing this, greenhouse gas emissions from mining or extracting virgin
minerals are avoided. It also conserves energy. Energy is used less efficiently when items are made
from recycled materials than when new raw materials are used. Sometimes the difference in
energy is enormous. For example, manufacturing new aluminum from recycled materials requires
95% less energy than creating it entirely from scratch. There is a about 70% energy savings for
steel.

BODY PARAGRAPH 2:
a. Argument # 2: Recycling conserves natural resources
b. Examples: An example of this is recycling paper and wood which also protects forests and trees.
Yes, new trees can be planted, but if an ancient forest or virgin rainforest is destroyed, they cannot
be replaced. Another illustration is recycling plastic, which results in less new plastic being
produced, which is unquestionably a good thing considering that new plastic is typically generated
from hydrocarbons found in fossil fuels.

BODY PARAGRAPH 3:
a. Argument # 3: recycling can create jobs, producing economic benefit.
b. Examples: For instance, certain used clothing can be used in textile recycling without further
processing. After washing, the reusable apparel can be distributed or sold again.

III. CONCLUSION
a. Restate arguments: In conclusion, there are many reasons why we should recycle. Recycling helps in
conserving natural resources, saving energy, reducing pollution, and creating employment opportunities. It
also reduces the amount of waste that is sent to landfills
b. Clincher: Overall, everyone in the planet should be required to recycle. Climate change and rubbish left
on the streets and in the ocean are already causing serious issues for our planet and its inhabitants. We can
prevent the ecosystem and our world from deteriorating due to waste by recycling. Therefore, these figures
would be higher, the globe would be cleaner, and pollution would no longer be a major issue if recycling
was made mandatory worldwide.

PERSUASIVE ESSAY:

RECYCLING SHOULD BE MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE

To begin, recycling helps to help our environment. Go outside, can you see the stars? If not, it’s because
of pollution. Imagine walking down a forest path, feeling the crisp fall breeze, hearing the birds chirping,
breathing in the fresh air. As a human living in this planet, we should take care our environment and learn to
recycle in order to reduce the amount of waste on planet Earth, and to preserve its resources, so that is why
recycling is significant. Not only does recycling allow the environment to thrive, but it also allows living people
to thrive as well. Recycling has a many purposes to our environment, it can minimize pollution and conserve
energy. It can also conserve natural resources and lastly recycling can create jobs, producing economic benefit.
All of these arguments are one of the purposes why recycling should be mandatory for everyone.
Recycling can minimize pollution and conserve energy. Manufacturing with recycled materials save on
energy, water and produces less water and air pollution. By saving energy, recycling reduces the air pollution
caused by burning fossil fuels which greatly contribute to the largest amount of energy generated. Recycling can
minimize pollution by lowers energy use, which in turn lowers greenhouse gas emissions. For example, there is
less demand for virgin materials when recycled materials are used to create new items. By doing this,
greenhouse gas emissions from mining or extracting virgin minerals are avoided. It also conserves energy.
Energy is used less efficiently when items are made from recycled materials than when new raw materials are
used. Sometimes the difference in energy is enormous. For example, manufacturing new aluminum from
recycled materials requires 95% less energy than creating it entirely from scratch. There is a about 70% energy
savings for steel.
Recycling conserves natural resources, such as wood, water, minerals, and fossil fuels, because materials
can be reused. As the world continues to grapple with the issue of waste, it's becoming increasingly clear that
recycling is a crucial part of the solution. From reducing greenhouse gas emissions to conserving natural
resources, the benefits of recycling are numerous. An example of this is recycling paper and wood which also
protects forests and trees. Yes, new trees can be planted, but if an ancient forest or virgin rainforest is destroyed,
they cannot be replaced. Another illustration is recycling plastic, which results in less new plastic being
produced, which is unquestionably a good thing considering that new plastic is typically generated from
hydrocarbons found in fossil fuels.
And lastly, recycling can create jobs, producing economic benefit. The management of solid waste is a
highly automated operation that only requires a little manpower. On the other side, recycling can require a lot
more labor. It involves the activities of collection, sorting, and processing, as well as other assisting
responsibilities including facility management, sales, and logistical support. Beginning with the collecting of
recyclable materials from places including homes, drop-off facilities, construction and demolition centers, and
companies, recycling is a comprehensive procedure. Following collecting, these recyclables undergo a careful
sorting procedure to separate diverse materials and products of differing quality. For instance, certain used
clothing can be used in textile recycling without further processing. After washing, the reusable apparel can be
distributed or sold again.
In conclusion, there are many reasons why we should recycle. Recycling helps in conserving natural
resources, saving energy, reducing pollution, and creating employment opportunities. It also reduces the amount
of waste that is sent to landfills. Overall, everyone in the planet should be required to recycle. Climate change
and rubbish left on the streets and in the ocean are already causing serious issues for our planet and its
inhabitants. We can prevent the ecosystem and our world from deteriorating due to waste by recycling.
Therefore, these figures would be higher, the globe would be cleaner, and pollution would no longer be a major
issue if recycling was made mandatory worldwide.
