Background research paper

The topic is a mask that lights up when the user talks. The problem is that background

noises may affect the mask. The topic was chosen because masks are very boring and

uncomfortable. Along with that, masks have to be worn EVERY day. This is why this design can

make everyday protection look better. Background noises may affect the mask by lighting

randomly and make the mask malfunction.

A voice reactive led light is placed along with the mask. A portable charger is charging

all of this in the user’s pocket. Every time the user speaks through the microphone, it sends a

direct current to the led lights to activate, making it function. This can be shown in Outlined

Montreal’s sound-reactive LED mask | What are they and how do they work? This experiment

will involve led lights, which means a strip of lights that can be easily placed. When the term

Electricity is used in this research paper, which is referring to a form of energy that powers all

appliances and devices. When sound is mentioned, it is referring to vibrations that travel through

the air and can be heard through one’s ear. A current is referring to an electrical charge that

moves. When the term Direct current (DC) is mentioned, it is referring to an energy current that

leaves in one direction.

There is an RGB speech-to-text face mask by element 14 presents that show a similar

project. Experts already have advanced versions. For example, the RGB speech-to-text face

mask uses a code in the raspberry pi that scrolls the words spoken across the face mask. There is

software that recognizes the voice and presents it better than regular voice software.

This design will make everyday life better, and give a reason why you should wear these

uncomfortable masks. This design could make people who hate wearing masks, into people who

would wear these cool masks every day. This could lessen Covid-19 spreading for lots of people.

Background noises may affect the mask by lighting randomly and making the mask

malfunction. If a mic is placed within the mask, the background noise will not malfunction the

mask. This can be tested by putting music far away from the mask. Put the music closer, and

closer. If the mask does not get affected, then it is functioning properly.
