ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We extend our heart-felt and sincere thanks to the Management of SNS College of
Engineering for providing us with all sorts of support for the completion of this project.
We are highly grateful and wholeheartedly express our gratitude to Dr.Jebarani Evangeline S
,Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for
her expert guidance ,suggestions ,and active encouragement for the fulfillment of the project
work.
We record our deep sense of indebtedness to our Project guide ,Ms.Indumathi M for his
unstinted support and guidance throughout this project. His continuous motivation and minute to
minute guidance with timely assistance rendered us to come out successfully with flying colors in
the project.
We also express our gratitude to other faculty members, nonteaching staff members, parents and
friends for providing their moral support for completion of the project Successfully.

ABSTRACT
Drivers are the obvious target market for anti-sleep glass. Truck drivers with tight schedules
often find themselves hauling freight overnight. An alarm worn over the ear and a thermos of coffee
could be enough to keep drivers alert without resorting to pharmaceuticals. Even the casual spring
break road tripper could use a sleep glass.
Over-the-ear glass have uses beyond the driver's seat. A student cramming through the night
could skip the usual chemical ways to stay awake and wear a anti sleep glass over his or her ear
instead. Night security guards, especially those who work in stationary posts and gate houses, could
also make use of this simple technology

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Many accidents are caused by loss of vehicle control due to drivers suddenly falling asleep. In most
cases the driver is tired, and without realizing it, tends to temporarily close his eyes to rest, especially
when the road is smooth and with little traffic, this momentary inattention can be fatal. Those who are
most at risk are those people who drive for several hours for work-related reasons, especially during
night time (e.g., truck drivers, bus drivers, taxi drivers, sales agents, etc.). Nevertheless there
arecurrently no devices on the market able to recognize the onset of drivers "falling asleep"andprevent
it,keeping the subject awake.
The late night shift workers are unable to sleep during their work hours at late night. This project will
be a great help for them. The workers can do their work sincerely and properly. The anti sleep glasses
are very useful product for them.this can awake they from sleep.if they feels sleepy during the closing
of eyes the buzzer will vibrate and make them awake.
The drivers are the main target for the anti sleep glass. Drivers risk their life during their night time
works. This will not affect their eyesight while driving the vehicle. This will be minute part in their
glasses and a great help for them.If they feels sleepy during driving the vehicle this will awake them
by buzzer.
The students are sleepy while reading their studymaterials or preparing for exams this will awaken
them by our project. This will very helpful for them.using the vibrator we can awaken them. This
cannot affect their eyesight of their books. They can fix our project in their own lenses also.

CHAPTER 1
PROBLEM STATEMENT
The major problem facing by the students ,drivers and night shift workers they facing the problem of
late night sleeping during the time of work they can’t control their sleep
The drivers told us that they have to drive the vehiclethe whole night without sleep. For that they have to do such
things but there is no probable result. The night shift workers have to do their work both physical or mental
work .Students told that they have to study the whole night for their exams and anyother preparations. But if they
starts studying they cannot control their sleep. These are the problems told by them.

CHAPTER 3
METHODOLGY
Here The PCB is not used for making the circuit, since it's circuit is not that much complex. It
isstickedto the sensor over the Arduino pro mini board using hot glue and solder it with short flexible
wires. After next to it, It is made into a buzzer unit, in which the vibrator, buzzer and transistor is used.
In this Arduino pro mini was used. To use this as a miniature project,to avoid the particles used to hide
the eye sight and In future we planned to play a song or like an automatic alarmatic system. The
vibarator reduces the vibration level not to harm the humans. Arduino transmits the signal to sends the
signal to the receiver and the output is obtained using the program.

3.1 BLOCK DIAGRAM OF ANTI SLEEP GLASS
The Arduino pro mini is the main function of this project.the Arduino pro mini is connected with IR
sensor ,3.7v battery,4.7k resistor,vibrator,5v buzzer. This is the block diagram of our project.we build this blocks
based on the components used in this project. Based on this the resistor and vibrator are the external source using
the vibrator it placed near the ear and it vibrates when the user sleeps .

3.2 CIRCUIT DIAGRAM OF ANTI SLEEP GLASS
This is the circuit diagram of our project. In this we have placed IR LED and photodiode . I t acts as as a
transmitter and receiver. In this we have three sections : sensing section, comparatory section and output section.
The sensing section R1and R2 receives the signal from the eyes when they are closed and it sends the signal to the
receiever and it receives the signal and the output section R3 will define the output using buz

CHAPTER 4
TESTING AND RESULT
Connected a IR sensor to the Arduino Pro Mini board as Vcc of the sensor to the vcc of the Arduino Pro Mini,
Ground to the ground and the output of the sensor to the Analog pin one (A1) of the Arduino Pro Mini. I used a 5
volt buzzer and a vibrator motor from the old cellphone for alerting. I connected both buzzer and vibrator motor in
parallel and used an general purpose NPN Transistor (BC547) to drive them.
Transistor's emitter connected to the ground and collector connected to the negative pin of the buzzer and vibrator
motor. Positive terminal of vibrator motor and buzzer are further connected to the vcc of the Arduino Pro Mini.
Base of the transistor connected to the pin D3 of the Arduino Pro Mini through the4.7kiloohmresistor.

CHAPTER 5
CONCLUSION
Therefore it is concluded that this will be a useful product for drivers, night shift workers and
students. This system is very useful especially for people who travel long distances and people who are
driving lateat night. Falling asleep on the wheel can lead to serious consequences ,there may be accidents
and people may even lose their lives. This situation is more common and hence it is very important to
counter this problem. So address this issue ,This project is made and it will be beneficial to the public and
is also cost efficient.
