I am writing to express my interest in the doctoral program in the department of mathematics at

your university, as it has always been my age - long ambition to become a great Mathematician,
whose in-depth knowledge can help simplify mathematical knowledge and demystify the aura
around mathematics for which people have been running away from.

This inborn idea started nurturing in the year 1980’s when I was in stage 5 where my mathematics
teacher tapped into my potential, this teacher incidentally bears my surname, which has been a
blessing. This great man started in earnest to develop my interest in mathematics. I took the
challenge to become one of the best in the school. I took the challenge to become one of best in the
school. This boost my confidence. That made me qualify to the secondary school after written
common entrance examination. It helped me to read science. In those days I could study
mathematics with a little help. I could take the textbooks and read to understand on my own accord,
even during holidays I studied it alone. I took the opportunity to help my sister, cousins, nephews,
nieces and friends even though I was the youngest among them.

At the teacher training college I continued to study science and mathematics where the interest grew
better, I became a professional mathematics teacher. I started making greater impact in students life,
they clamor for my teaching, I therefore with my colleagues have been organizing extra classes for
the weaker ones. Many students have benefited immensely, this helped them qualify into the various
tertiary institutions.

For over ten years I have been helping teach our students to contest for National Science and
Mathematics quiz. Even though I had masters in finance earlier on, I could not pursue it that much I
have to do another master in mathematics. I therefore have the conviction that if I pursue my PHD I
can become an authority in mathematical analysis, and able to simplify all mathematical topics to all
levels of educational ladder.

Studying mathematics at your highly prestigious is an opportunity I would love to dedicate my energy
to wholeheartedly, during my stay I hope to contribute immensely to the community in my utmost
best I have a great desire to improve upon my knowledge. I am highly convince that I will sure add
value to mathematics, I hope to be given the opportunity, I have the confidence that I will exceed
your confident levels that will be repulse in me.
