The objectives of the assignment are to expose learners to critical thinking, decision-
making skills and enhance the learners’ problem-solving skills through one of the
problem-solving tools before making a decision.

PART 1: ESSAY (30%)

You are a manager at a growing company that is facing significant challenges in its
operational processes. Employees have expressed concerns regarding inefficiencies,
workflow disruptions, and missed opportunities in the company's current structure.

Based on the above case, you need to identify the problem and creative solutions that will
address the issue. Your essay should include the following components:

1. Introduction
2. Identify the issue(s)/problem(s) of the case
3. Analyse and propose a solution
4. Conclusion
5. References

PART 2: REPORT WRITING (30%)

You are required to write a report about a real problem or issue either at your workplace
or in your personal life that you are currently encountering. Think critically about this
problem, analyzing its various dimensions and implications. Your task is to:

 Identify and describe in detail the problem or issue you are facing.
 Analyze the root causes and contributing factors of this problem.
 Propose a strategic solution for your problem, outlining the steps you will take to
implement it.
 Reflect on how this problem and solution relate to your wider life or work goals,
and how your chosen strategy aligns with those objectives.

Your report should be based on the following components:

1. Introduction: The objective of the report
2. Content:
i. Description of the issue/problem;
ii. Application of ONE (1) problem-solving tool or decision-making strategy to solve
or
decide on the issue/problem;
iii. Elaboration on the solution or decision of the issue/problem.
iv. Conclusion – Summary of the report and self-reflection about the assignment
process.

PART 3: ONLINE CLASS PARTICIPATION (10%)
This part requires students to participate actively in the MyINSPIRE eforum. Discuss the
following topics in the forum and submit proof of your participation with your tutor and
peers in the eforum online discussions:

1. What is your opinion on the statement "Good thinkers are born, not made"? Please
provide reasoning to support your argument.
2. Compare and contrast the characteristics of a good and poor thinker during both phases
of the thinking process. Provide a comprehensive analysis without leaving out any
important details.
3. What is your opinion on the focus of our education system? Do you believe it prioritizes
the development of analytical (left-brain) skills over creative (right-brain) abilities? If so,
what changes or initiatives do you suggest to create a more balanced approach?

TUJUAN:
Objektif tugasan adalah untuk mendedahkan pelajar dengan pemikiran kritis, kemahiran
membuat keputusan, dan meningkatkan kemahiran menyelesaikan masalah pelajar melalui
salah satu alat penyelesaian masalah sebelum membuat keputusan.

BAHAGIAN 1: KARANGAN (30%)

Anda seorang pengurus di syarikat yang sedang berkembang yang menghadapi cabaran
besar dalam proses operasinya. Pekerja telah menyatakan kebimbangan mengenai
ketidakcekapan, gangguan aliran kerja dan terlepas peluang dalam struktur semasa syarikat.

Berdasarkan kes di atas, anda perlu mengenal pasti masalah dan penyelesaian kreatif yang
akan menangani isu tersebut. Esei anda hendaklah mengandungi komponen berikut:

Anda dikehendaki menulis laporan tentang masalah atau isu sebenar sama ada di tempat
kerja anda atau dalam kehidupan peribadi anda yang sedang anda hadapi. Fikirkan secara
kritis tentang masalah ini, menganalisis pelbagai dimensi dan implikasinya. Tugas anda ialah:

• Kenal pasti dan huraikan secara terperinci masalah atau isu yang anda hadapi.
• Menganalisis punca dan faktor penyumbang masalah ini.
• Cadangkan penyelesaian strategik untuk masalah anda, menggariskan langkah-langkah
yang akan anda ambil untuk melaksanakannya.
• Fikirkan bagaimana masalah dan penyelesaian ini berkaitan dengan matlamat hidup atau
kerja anda yang lebih luas, dan cara strategi pilihan anda sejajar dengan objektif tersebut.

Laporan anda hendaklah berdasarkan komponen berikut:
