(Case Study Writing)

I. CASE PRESENTATION

Before the opening of the classes Yudez Ltd. received a new order of 15,000 units of smartphones
from Mr. Cupid that to be delivered within 15 days, failing which the contract will be null and void. To
complete this production, manager Bella planned to outsource the production so that order could be
delivered on time. The outsourcing resulted in increase in cost by 10%.

II. CASE ANALYSIS

Statement of the Problem/Problem

 Major Problem
To deliver the new order of 15,000 units of smartphones within 15 days.

 Minor Problem
The outsourcing for smartphone production increases in cost by 10%.

Objective/Aim
 To be able to deliver the 15,000 unit of smartphone orders within the time period.
 To be able to consistently deliver a good quality smartphone products.
 Manager Bella will be able to perform its duties efficiently and effectively.
 To efficiently increase the sales of smartphones for next month.
 To increase the production of smartphones with a minimum production cost.

Areas of Consideration
 Add some more manpower to increase the production of smartphone in a short period of
time.
 Optimized equipment usage and increased capacity of production.
 Compare the potential cost savings with the quality and expertise offered by the
outsourcing provider.

Analysis
1. The Yudez Ltd. should maximize their time when producing a smartphones to increase
the production so that they can achieved the desired quantity of products. When they will
able to achieved the quantity of desired quantity of smartphones they will not going to
spend more time, money and effort to outsource the production. Having a good sense of
the time required for routine tasks can help Yudez Ltd. be more realistic in planning and
estimating how much time is available for other activities. Successful time management
leads to greater business happiness, more accomplishments at work, and a more
satisfying future.
2. The company need to focus on increasing turnover and margin through streamlining the
sales process and paying more attention to pricing most especially in the production of
the smartphone. Focusing on a smaller and higher-quality product range between the
company and outsourcing provider. Also, strengthen the relations with customers to have
a long-term customer-seller relation.
3. Yudez Ltd. need to make sure to have a full information about the supplier, outsourcing
provider and customer demand market. Strongly communicate to them and spend weekly
time to follow what is going on and each of everyone be inform. Be able in time to have
enough safety stocks and hedged material prices in case there is a risk of material
shortages or increasing material price increases. Don’t wait until it happens, but be in
forefront and in control.
4. The manager Bella need to ensure the quality of the smartphones to be deliver to the
customer. Manager Bella need to inspect every process in the production system to
ensure delivery of good quality of smartphone product to the customer most especially
when it is really need to outsource the production. Through measuring and testing the
smartphone products to ensure they are as uniform as possible and meet the set quality
standard criteria will be able to help the Yudez Ltd. minimize inconsistencies and it will
provide product quality.
5. The improvement of facilities and equipment should be the next priority of the Yudez
Ltd. after addressing the problem in limited production of Smartphone. Investing in
equipment has proven to rise efficiency and productivity in the company. In addition, it
prevent the same problem from arising in outsource the production of units of
smartphones due to the limited production daily that it need to be delivered in a short
period of time.

Conclusion
In conclusion, Yudez Ltd. will able to give solutions to its manor and major problems
when they consider some of the areas behind such us if they will be able to add some more
manpower to increase the production of smartphone in a short period of time. Optimized
equipment usage and increased capacity of production. Compare the potential cost savings with
the quality and expertise offered by the outsourcing provider. In addition, this can be achieved
when manager Bella will able to perform its duties efficiently and effectively. There is some of
an alternative Course of Action and its analysis that the company will able to use as an strategy
to easily solve the problem and will able to deliver the new order of 15,000 units of smartphones
from Mr. Cupid that to be delivered within 15 days that may avoid failing in the contract.
Recommendation
With the above analysis I therefore recommend the Alternative Course of Action number
Five (5) that recommends to improve the facilities and equipment of producing a smartphones.
This recommended Alternative Course of Action will help the Yudez Ltd. to be productive and
have a less expenses in production. They will able to produce a good quality of smartphone that
meet the customer expectations. In addition, Yudez Ltd. will be able to provide and deliver at the
right time the customer orders.
