Bat: A high pitched noise made by dogs and wolves.
Blood: To scare.
Brew: Not alive.
Broom: A type of brush with a long woodwn handle, said to be used by witches to fly.
Candle: A wax cylinder wity a wick in the middle, that can be lit with a match to provide a source of light.
Cauldron: Malicious, bad, ill intentioned.
Coffin: Red liquid running through veins of people and warm blooded creatures.
Costume: A small flying mammal, with leathery wings. Vampires are said to be able to turn into bats.
Dead: To frighten a person or animal.
Devil: Something which is frightening.
Evil: A practical joke, or other act of deception.
Fangs: A cooking pot, used by witches to brew spells.
Fiend: A monster or demon.
Frighten: A burial space for a coffin in a cemetery.
Ghost: A container for a dead body, generally made of wood and lined with silk, with
Grave: A dead person, who was buried wrapped in bandages.
Gruesome: A stick used for casting magic spells.
Haunted: Sharp, pointy upper front teeth, designed for piercing flesh.
Howl: A magic rite, cast by witches.
Jack O' Lantern: Spiders spin these to catch flies.
Monster: A place frequented by ghosts or other spirits of the dead.
Mummy: An insect with eight legs that spins webs.
Nightmare: Horrible, bloody, macabre.
Pumpkin: Bad or evil.
Scare: A large, upright stone placed at the head of a grave.
Scary: An evil spirit.
Skull: A fearful, horrid, imaginary creature.
Scythe: A building where dead people are buried.
Shadow: Undead spirit that haunts houses.
Spell: A lantern carved from a pumpkin, with a candle inside.
Spider: A creature who sleeps in a coffin by day, and ventures out at night to bite people and drink their
blood.
Spirits: Mildly scary, though often in a fun way.
Spooky: A long, sharp, curved blade.
Tomb: The ghosts of dead people.
Tombstone: A woman believed to have magical powers.
Trick: A scary, bad dream.
Vampire: A male witch.
Wand: A make-believe outfit, worn for fun at Halloween.
Web: Magic, practised by witches.
Warlock: To cook liquid; cooked beverage or dish.
Werewolf: The bony part of the head, attached to a person's skeleton.
Wicked: An orange vegetable, which is often carved and hollowed out to make Halloween lanterns.
Witch: A person who turns into a wolf whenever there is a full moon.
Witchcraft: A dark shape cast by an object positioned between a surface and a source of light.
