RA 10601

This is an act promoting agricultural and fisheries mechanization development in the country.

This act is known as the "Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization (AFMech) Law". Generally,

it requires the creation of a thorough national policy on affordable and environmentally safe fishing

and farming to ensure food security and boost farmers' income. This Act, which consists of 42

sections, focuses on promoting the development and adoption of modern, appropriate, cost-

effective, and environmentally safe agricultural and fisheries machinery and equipment to improve

farm productivity and efficiency to achieve food security and safety and increase farmers' income;

and providing a favorable environment for the local assembling and manufacturing of engines,

machinery, and equipment. Additionally, it is accountable to strengthen support services like credit

faculties, research, training, and registration to ensure compliance with prescribed quality

standards. Moreover, it ensures the quality and safety of machinery and equipment locally

manufactured or imported by strengthening regulation through the development and enforcement

of machinery and machine performance standards, regular testing and evaluation, registration,

accreditation, and classification of suppliers, assemblers, and manufacturers to ensure compliance.

This act unifies, rationalizes, and strengthens the implementation, and coordination of activities

and mechanisms on agricultural and fisheries mechanization programs and projects and also

delivers integrated support services to farmers, fisherfolk, and other stakeholders, and assists them

to be able to viably operate and manage their agricultural and fisheries mechanization projects.

This is an act strengthening, modernizing, and aligning the practice of agricultural

engineering in the country into the internationally recognized method of agricultural and

biosystems engineering, and for other purposes. This act is known as the "Philippine Agricultural

and Biosystems Engineering Act of 2016". Generally, the Philippine Agricultural and Biosystems

Engineering Act, which consists of seven articles are focused to promote, strengthen, and regulate

the practice of agricultural and biosystems engineering in the Philippines by putting in place

measures that will lead to the establishment of relevant agricultural and biosystems engineering

practice, as well as the unification of all agricultural and biosystems engineers under a single

national Accredited Integrated Professional Organization, which must be approved by both the

Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and the Professional Regulation Commission.

It is an act prescribing urgent related measures to modernize the agriculture and fisheries

sectors of the country in order to enhance their profitability and prepare said sectors for the

challenges of globalization through an adequate, focused, and rational delivery of necessary

support services, appropriating funds therefor and for other purposes. This act is known as the

"Agricultural and Fisheries Modernization Act of 1997". This act outlines measures to support the

growth of the agricultural and fishing industries in 120 sections under five titles. Generally, the

act’s goal is to change these businesses from resource-based to technology-based ones and to

increase earnings, particularly for small farmers and fishers. The republic act proposes a series of

measures in the field of production and marketing. Model farms must be built in strategic zones

for the growth of agriculture and fisheries. The act implies that the Department of Agriculture will

create a medium- and long-term modernization plan after consulting with various government

agencies and non-government organizations. The development of major and minor irrigation

systems, as well as research and development in the irrigation industry, are covered in this republic

act. Other measures address credit expansion, structural development, consumer safety, production

standards, etc. And the rest of the article focuses on improving human resources. In addition, the
