Living or Non Living: Cloze

Living and non living things are all around us. Look around you, do you

see living and non living things? People, plants and animals

are all examples of living things. Rocks, water and soil are examples of

non living things. All living things grow , breathe, move ,

reproduce and excrete or have waste. Some non living things can move but non living

things do not reproduce , breathe, grow or excrete. Examples of a non living

things that move are waterfalls, fire , cars and clouds. Living things

reproduce. Animals will have babies or lay eggs. Humans have babies.

Plants reproduce in the form of seeds , the seeds will germinate and will

become new plants . Some non living things are natural and

some are man made. Can you think of natural and man made non living things?

Examples of man made non living things are bikes , cars, shoes, bridges

and furniture. Examples of natural non living things are clouds , the sun,

rain, rocks , snow and sand. Some non living things are made of material

that was once living. Tables and chairs are sometimes made of wood

which was once a living tree. Everything around us is either living or non

living.
