What is Preventive Maintenance? Give examples.

Preventive maintenance is the set of tasks where inspections and cleanings are
carried out, where the operation of the machines and facilities is verified and which
allows us to anticipate any possible breakdown.

What are the types of Preventive Maintenance? Explain them briefly.

the types are:

 Time – based maintenance: It involves periodically reviewing or inspecting the


assets, be it days, weeks or months following the manufacturer's
recommendations.
 Usage – based maintenance: refers to the planning and scheduling of maintenance
service based on the hours worked by the equipment or machine, either by hours
or production cycles.
 Predictive maintenance: Predictive maintenance works through a culture of
constant monitoring, embraced by employees, machine operators, and
maintenance technicians.
 Prescriptive maintenance: Prescriptive maintenance uses advanced analytics,
artificial learning, and machine learning to analyze and gather information about
the health of machinery, uses technologies and stories to test and make
assumptions about company assets.

What are the benefits of Preventive Maintenance?

The benefits are:

 Preventive maintenance will decrease business downtime and closures due to


unexpected equipment failures.
 Preventive maintenance will increase equipment life expense, so you’ll spend
