Lab 5: Histogram & Fixturing Tools

1. Load your MySearchMax.vpp APPLICATION file.

2. Open up CogJob 1.

1. Open the VisionPro Toolbox and add a CogFixture Tool under the CogPMAlign Tool. Hint: It’s in
the Calibration & Fixturing folder.
2. Make the proper connections between the Image Source, the PMAlign Tool and the newly
inserted CogFixture Tool. Remember to run the Job once after you make the connections.
3. Save your APPLICATION as MyFixture.vpp.
4. Open the VisionPro Toolbox and add a CogHistogram Tool under the CogFixture Tool. Hint: It’s
in the Image Processing folder.
5. Make the proper connections between the CogFixture Tool and the newly inserted
CogHistogram Tool. Remember to run the Job once after you make the connections.

6. Configure the CogHistogram Tool tool to check for the presence of pins in the camera’s rear
connection.

7. Verify that the CogHistogram Tool region tracks the movement of the demo plate. Hint: You
may need to enable the REGION graphics in the tool to make the region show up.
a. What image must be selected in order to see the CogHistogram Tool region of interest?
b. What image must be selected in order to see the actual graphical histogram of the
region of interest?
c. What happens if the CogHistogram Tool region is forced outside of the field of view by
movement of the demo plate?
8. Save your APPLICATION as MyHistogram.vpp.
