Lab 9: PatInspect

1. Load your MyNPointCalibration.vpp APPLICATION file.


2. Open up CogJob 1.

3. Open the VisionPro Toolbox and add a CogPatInspect Tool under the Calibration Tools.
4. Make the proper connections between the Image Source, the CogPMAlign Tool and the newly
inserted CogPatInspect Tool. Remember to run the Job once after you make the connection.
5. Configure the CogPatInspect Tool to generate an image showing the differences between the
PASS and FAIL side of the demo plate..
a. Grab the train image and origin.
b. Set the proper region of interest to train as the ideal demo plate. Hint: Look at the
Current.TrainImage.
c. Train the new pattern.
d. Check that the new pattern is representative of an ideal demo plate. Hint: Look at the
Current.TrainedImage.
e. Check to see if there are any differences between the model and the current image.
Hint: Look at the LastRun.DifferenceImageAbsolute image.
6. Change over to the FAIL demo plate side. Run the CogJob again and notice the difference in the
LastRun.DifferenceImageAbsolute.

7. Send that image from the CogPatInspect Tool to a new CogBlob Tool and configure the CogBlob
Tool to find all the defects and give you information about them. Configure the tool to report
only those defects which represent real defects and not run‐time variations.
8. Save your APPLICATION as MyPatInspect.vpp.
