Speaking

Task 3: Decide which words are stressed in these sentences. Then listen to check
your answers.
The girl’s job may be full time, // whereas the boy’s is probably part time.
The girl can learn how to keep customers happy, // while the boy has to keep
children in order.
He’ll probably learn not just to deal with children, // but also their parents.
I’d prefer to coach children than work in a restaurant // because really I enjoy
being in the fresh air more than being indoors.

Task 9
Firstly, both of the pictures show people are in working time. They both smile so I
guess that they are both happy with their jobs. Another similarity that they might
have is that they are all working full-time jobs. The first picture shows the woman
working in a food court in a restaurant while in the second picture, the boy is a
painter and he is holding painting equipment in both hands. The girl in the first
picture is working in an indoor restaurant while in the second one, the boy is
working outside in a customer's house. Another difference is that the woman in the
first picture is wearing gloves and a hood which is also called protective clothing,
while in the second picture, the boy is wearing comfortable clothes. Regarding the
question of the task, people have a content smile on their faces because when they
do that kind of work, they might gain experience and practical skills. Moreover,
the woman in the first picture enjoys her job because she loves working with
customers and she can also pursue the dream of being a chef. The boy in the
second picture also likes his job because this job is very creative and he doesn't
have to work all day in the office like many 9-to-5 jobs.
