STUDY ( dành cho sinh viên )

1. Are you a student or are you working right now?

I am a junior/senior student in university and major in marketing. I firmly believe only when I have a better grasp
of my expertise, can I find an ideal job in the future

2. Do you prefer to study in the mornings or the afternoons?

I prefer to study in the afternoons because I am more energetic then. Although the morning is good for me to
memorize something, I often can’t manage to get up early.

3. Are you looking forward to working?

No, I don’t. I know from the daughters and sons of my parents’ friends that working is really hard, which gives
them little time to take a rest. Plus, working means having more responsibilities. I can’t do things whenever I
want.

4. Do you like your subject? Is it very interesting?

Yes, I do. I am quite into math. In my opinion, math is a subject that teaches me how to become a rational
person who I want to be. Plus, I love it because our teacher teaches it in a very interesting way.

5. why did you choose to study that subject?

The reason why I study math is that math lays a solid foundation for almost all the other subjects. As long as
you grasp it well, there are many directions for you to choose in the future. Besides, I find working out each
difficult math question attracts me deeply.

6. what subjects are you studying?

I am a science student. So, I am currently studying math, physics, and biology as my major subjects. Also, I did
some selective courses like French and Economics.

7. What technology do you use at work/when you study?

In my mind the technology related to computers is the most common at work/when I study. All the
tasks/assignments must be accomplished by the computer, and then handed in through e-mail to the
superiors/teachers. when I am confronted with some puzzles, I can also turn to it for further assistance apart
from my workmates/classmates.

8. What was your first day at school like?

I think curiosity is the common feel for all the students who walk into their school on the first day. Everything in
the school was so fresh to me that I held great expectation towards my new life. I will make a good preparation
for my future and a lot of new friends from different family backgrounds.

9. How much time do you spend on studying every day?

During the weekdays, I almost spend all of my time studying professional knowledge. However, on the
weekends, I will take part in some interesting activities to relax myself so that I can throw myself into new
challenges with greater enthusiasm and initiative

10. Does your major/study live up to your expectation？

Yes. The tutors who teach me are very knowledgeable and humorous and the courses I am learning are
interesting and challenging.

11. Which do you prefer, studying alone or with others?

It depends. For some knowledge I should memorize, I prefer studying alone because a quiet studying
atmosphere does a great job in focusing all my mind. For other knowledge, I think group study is better. When I
am confronted with some puzzles and cannot solve them alone, I can ask my classmates for help immediately.

12. What kind of subjects are often considered as challenging？

Math should be considered as demanding subject, in my mind. You know, it is extremely abstract so that
having a good master of it needs talents and frequent practice.

13. Would it be better to study science subjects?

For me, science subjects are more practical and useful in promoting social progress and finding ideal jobs on
future labor market. In contemporary society full of fierce competition, grasping a practical skill is of paramount
importance.

14. Speaking of studying, who matters more, teachers or classmate?

Of course, teachers. In terms of imparting knowledge, they are more learned, experienced and professionally-
trained. When we grasp the knowledge from our teachers, we can discuss with our classmates to deepen its
understanding and insight.

15. What is the most important quality of a teacher?

I think being patient and observant should be the most important quality for a teacher. Every student has their
own understanding. Confronted with those who absorb knowledge slowly, teachers need to guide them gently
and patiently. Meanwhile, they should also teach them according to their specific feature so that their potential
can be tapped fully

16. Are there anything you wish you school to improve?

I hope that the canteen at my school can be improved someday. Food safety and physical health are equally
crucial. The school should introduce some measures to diversify food variety and raise food standard.

17. What kind of things could help you to study better?

At first, a library with rich collection of books is of great help to me because it not only provides me with a
perfect place to study, but also a sea of knowledge to swim in.

18. Would you like to go to other cities/countries to study?

Yes, that is one of my future plans. With sweeping trend of globalization, studying in a foreign country can
equip me with international vision and different thinking perspective, which is very important to my future
career.

19. Did you choose your major according to your own will?
Yes, I have made my own decision, but my teachers and parents offer me many practical suggestions and
experience

20. What do you plan to do after graduation?

Just I have mentioned above, I plan to go for my further study in a foreign country because I want to experience
a totally different teaching mode and cultural atmosphere, which is of great use to my future growth and
development.

1. Do you miss being a student?

Yes, I do. You know working is so much harder compared with the assignments at school. I really miss the
time when I could do nothing but study and play. That’s probably the most enjoyable time of my life.

2. Do you like your job?

Yes, I do. I love my job. Being a teacher means fostering many students into useful and comprehensive
talents, which will always give me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction

3. why did you choose to do that type of work?

The reason why I choose teachers as my job is that education is of paramount importance in boosting social
development. I hope I can make due contribution to the improvement of educational level of our country with
my own efforts.

4. What do you find most interesting about your work/job

The most interesting thing I find from my work lies in the challenges to deal with people from all walks of life.
when you have a clear picture of someone by observing his or her behaviors, you will figure out the most
suitable way to get along with him or her.

5. What is the most important quality of a co-worker/colleague?

Having team work spirit is of paramount importance in cooperating with your colleagues. In the age of
information explosion, no work can be finished successfully without this quality.

6. Which matters to you more, the job itself or the people you work with？
Both are equally important. The former gives me enough money to support myself and the sense of
satisfaction when I finish a tough task successfully; while the latter offers me good mood and valuable
assistance.

7. Have you ever changed your work before?

Yes, in my mind, for youngsters, changing jobs regularly does a great job in gaining rich experience and
contacting more people from all walks of life. That is very important for one’s career path

8. Do you think you will change your job in the future?

Yes, until I find the most suitable job for me which will tap my potential to the fullest extent and I can feel the
great pleasure from it.

9. What was your first day at work like?

I think confusion is the common feel for all the youngsters who walk into their workplace on the first day.
From the school to work, it belongs to too big a jump so that it needs you to take in all sorts of information
about the company, the colleagues and how it works as soon as possible.

I think the superiors should create more activities and opportunities to enhance the unifying force of the
company. Under the heavy pressure of work, many youngsters can hardly spare enough time and energy to
relax themselves and contact more people. The company should treat them as individuals with feelings
rather than impersonal machines

11. What kind of jobs are popular in Vietnam?

It has to be admitted that under the influence of epidemics, numerous young people prefer stable positions
like public servants. So, you can feel fierce competition in the employment of such posts.

2. The place you live:

1. Do you like the place you live in?
Yes, I enjoy the dormitory room at my university/school. Although it is not very spacious, it’s quite cozy and
homelike where I can share everything with my roommates. We help each other like a family which I like the
most.

2. Are there any landmarks/iconic buildings nearby your place?

Near the place I live in, there is a very big park for people to relax themselves in their leisure time. A small
river runs through the center of the park with numerous fragrant flowers and green trees. It attracts many
youngsters to jog and old people to walk here every morning.

3. What is your high school like?

My high school is a common one with a long history. All the teachers are very patient and knowledgeable,
who create a very light, free and creative learning atmosphere for students. In addition, numerous after-
school activities are being held on the campus with the aim to enrich their school life.

4. Which room do you like the most?

I like my own bedroom the most. When I close the door of the bedroom, it belongs to myself completely. I
can enjoy everything I want to do without any interference from others.

5. Is life convenient around your place?

Yes, very convenient. The public transport including forthcoming subway can lead you to every place of the
city. In addition, all the life facilities are well-equipped, which can satisfy my almost each requirement.

6. Are there any markets/shops near your place?

Yes, of course. there is a very big supermarket which can provide every daily necessity for the residents
living nearby. Besides, numerous small shops can offer more choices.

7. Are there anything you dislike about your place?

In fact, I am a person who tend to be satisfied with my life readily. In my opinion, almost everything about
my place is perfect if it can provide more public space for vegetation and leisure facilities.

8. Where do you live, in a city or in the countryside?

In a city. I can gain swift and convenient access to various facilities although sometimes I have to suffer
from traffic jam and worse air quality.

9. Which room do you and your family spend most of your time in?
The kitchen of course. every time when we intend to cook dinner, we will gather together in the kitchen,
preparing everything for the meal. During the process of preparation and eating, we share joys and sorrows
with each other. That is the happy hour of my family.

10. How long have you been living there?

Nearly five years. I like the environment and atmosphere close to my home very much.

11. Are you willing to live in the countryside in the future?

Maybe when I am old. You know, living in the city can make you gain swift and convenient access to various
facilities and resources. But meanwhile, you have to suffer from heavy traffic, worse air quality and higher
price for daily necessities. However, the situation of living in the countryside is vice versa.

12. What changes do you hope to seein your neighborhood in the future? Or Are there anything
needs to be improved in your neighborhood?
If more public space is provided for vegetation and leisure facilities, it will be better. Besides, more activities
can be organized by the community with the aim to make every resident own more opportunities to
communicate with each other.

13. Do you know your neighbors?

In fact, we don’t have many chances to communicate with our neighbors. You know, due to busy schedule
and heavy pressure, people in increasing number can hardly spare enough time and energy to talk with
their neighbors, which is a really pitiful thing because after all close neighbors are better than distant
relatives.

14. What’s the difference between your current place and your old place?
My former house was rented so it was not my own home. But my current place was purchased five years
ago by my parents. They decorated it very delicately and I feel very comfortable in my own house.

15. Has the place you live in changed over the years?
Yes, a lot. As economy is advancing by leaps and bounds in China, the government is investing more fund
into the building of infrastructure. More roads and high-rise buildings near my neighborhood have appeared.

16. What do you usually do at your place?

Generally speaking, I prefer do many favorite things in my bedroom, such as listening to some light music,
watching some Hollywood blockbusters and reading several hot novels.

17. Could you describe your room?

My room is not very big, but the most comfortable and cozy. There is a soft bed to sleep on and the
wardrobe is quite elegant, with pictures made of shells decorated on the door.

18. Do you prefer living in a house or a flat?

I like the former. You know, I am a dog person and living in a house means your house has a yard where
your dog can have more chances to touch the nature. Otherwise, being locked in the flat the whole day is a
sorrowful thing for dogs.

19. Do you think the place you live is a good place for families with kids?
Yes, there is a well-established primary and high school nearby which means children can gain swift and
convenient access to high-quality education just within ten-minute walk. More importantly, there is no busy
transport so that children can be safe on the way to school or home.

20. What kind of neighborhood do you want to live in?

I would like to live in the neighborhood with friendly and warm-hearted neighbors. Just as an old saying in
China goes, close neighbors are better than distant relatives. If you have some trouble in your life, they will
offer their hands immediately to lead you out of the difficulty.

3. Hometown – City Life

1. where are you from?
My hometown is a small city of the North of Vietnam, which is famous for its fresh seafood. Recently, my
hometown has not changed very much because it can hardly attract more funds for development.

2. How long have you been living there?

I spent my childhood in my hometown. It’s a beautiful and sweet one. In summer, you could catch fish,
dragonflies and even snakes. My childhood was full of laughers if my memory serves me.

3. Is your hometown a big city or a small one?

A small one, but its position is very important because of its harbor. You also can taste very fresh and delicious
seafood.
4. Do you like your hometown?
I have a mixed feeling about my hometown. As a child, I like it very much. It gave me a lot of pleasure just like
what I have mentioned above. However, when I grow up, I find many youngsters had left and been to the south
for further development because few opportunities can be given to them if they choose to stay in the hometown.

5. Are there anything you dislike about your hometown?

My hometown is like any other city in the north, which has no potential for all-around development. Therefore,
numerous youngsters have left for southern cities to pursue their dreams and only the old stay, which further
worsens the situation of the city

6. Has your hometown changed over the years? What are the changes?
Not so much. Every lunar new year festival, my parents take me back to the hometown and I find the same
buildings, the same streets and even the same numb expression on people’s faces.

4. TV Program

1 What kinds of TV programs do you often watch?

Well, I am not picky when it comes to TV programs because aside from local and global news, I would
check some entertainment shows which can entertain me and be updated about celebrities so these are the

types of programs I usually check out.

2 Do you think kids are watching too much television?

Well, based on my observation, most of the youngsters nowadays are pretty much exposed on different
types of screens may it be TV, smartphone, laptop or tablet. Although such activity can have a negative
impact, it may come along with some benefits as well like gaining useful knowledge.

3 What are the impacts of watching tv programs on children?

I guess there are positive and negative impacts for this since too much exposure on tv programs, which can
have a harmful effect on their health while, on the upside, these TV programs may contain knowledge, ideas
and values which may be beneficial for children.

4 What kinds of TV programs do you think should be broadcast more?

Well, in my opinion, it should be something entertaining and informative at the same time since these TV
programs have a huge impact on all viewers, especially the young kids. So, they must provide essential
topics which can bring positive effects.

Chà, tôi không kén chọn các chương trình truyền hình vì ngoài tin tức địa phương và toàn cầu, tôi sẽ xem một số

trình tôi thường xem.

ð 2 Bạn có nghĩ rằng trẻ em đang xem quá nhiều tivi không?
Theo quan sát của tôi thì hầu hết các bạn trẻ hiện nay tiếp xúc khá nhiều trên các loại màn hình có thể là TV,
smartphone, laptop hay tablet. Mặc dù hoạt động như vậy có thể có tác động tiêu cực nhưng nó có thể đi kèm
với một số lợi ích cũng như thu được kiến thức hữu ích.

ð 3 Những tác động của việc xem các chương trình TV đối với trẻ em?
Tôi đoán điều này có những tác động tích cực và tiêu cực vì việc tiếp xúc quá nhiều trên các chương trình TV, có
thể có tác hại đến sức khỏe của họ, trong khi ngược lại, các chương trình TV này có thể chứa đựng kiến thức, ý
tưởng và giá trị có thể có lợi cho bọn trẻ.

ð 4 Bạn nghĩ loại chương trình truyền hình nào nên được phát sóng nhiều hơn?
Theo tôi, nó nên có phần giải trí và cung cấp thông tin đồng thời vì những chương trình truyền hình này có tác
động rất lớn đến tất cả người xem, đặc biệt là trẻ nhỏ. Vì vậy họ phải đưa ra những chủ đề thiết yếu có thể mang
lại hiệu quả tích cực.

5. Spend time with others

1 Do you like talking with people? I am an introverted person who prefers to remain silent in front of
strangers. But I can be pretty talkative when I am hanging out with my friends. You would not recognize me as
the same person in these two different situations. So, I guess the answer depends on who I am interacting with.

2 How do you like spending time with your friends? Definitely playing Liên Minh Huyền Thoại, a
cellphone game published by Vinagame, a tech giant in Vietnam. Every day after school, we would rush back
to the dormitory, enter the virtual world, team up to fight against our enemies.

3 Would you prefer to study alone or with others? In most cases, I would study alone. I find it is more
productive and efficient in this way. By contrast, when I am studying with my friends, I often cannot resist the
temptation to chat with them. As a result, the homework that should have been finished within half an hour can
take a whole afternoon.

4 Do you remember a time when you need to cooperate with others? Yes, I do. Just last month, our
professor assigned a group project, where I need to collaborate with three of my classmates to complete a
survey on people’s attitudes towards false news on social media. To be as comprehensive as possible, we
decided to break up the task and each took care of 20 subjects.

ð 3 Bạn thích học một mình hay với những người khác? Trong hầu hết các trường hợp, tôi sẽ học một mình. Tôi
thấy nó có năng suất và hiệu quả hơn theo cách này. Ngược lại, khi học với bạn bè, tôi thường không thể cưỡng
lại được sự cám dỗ trò chuyện với họ. Kết quả là, bài tập đáng lẽ phải hoàn thành trong vòng nửa tiếng đồng hồ
thì có thể mất cả buổi chiều.

ð 4 Bạn có nhớ thời điểm cần hợp tác với người khác không? Tôi có nhớ. Mới tháng trước, giáo sư của chúng tôi
đã giao một dự án nhóm, trong đó tôi cần cộng tác với ba người bạn cùng lớp của mình để hoàn thành một cuộc
khảo sát về thái độ của mọi người đối với tin tức sai sự thật trên mạng xã hội. Để toàn diện nhất có thể, chúng tôi
quyết định chia nhỏ nhiệm vụ và mỗi người phụ trách 20 đối tượng.

6. Car trip

1 Did you enjoy traveling by car when you were a kid?

That's one of the things I hated to do back in my childhood because of motion or car sickness. Oh! I just
couldn't stand that clammy feeling. Then later on, I would vomit. Most of the time, I was not able to enjoy a
fun ride, and that's upsetting.

2 What types of cars do you like? As a female, beginner driver, I find small cars fit my style and skills
most mainly because it's easy to take control especially for city driving. I mean, I don't get cold feet at all. On
top of that, SUV's and vans are perfect for family trips and outdoor activities because of the extra spaces they
provide. So, that's my other top choice.

3 Do you prefer to be a driver or a passenger?

In most cases, I choose to be the driver due to the fact that I'm the one in control. That means, I can stop
wherever you want, take any street, any shortcut that suits my commute hours. Not to mention, I also like to

move at my own speed and reach my destination on time, without any haste.

4 What do you usually do when there is a traffic Jam? Whenever I know there is a chance that I get stuck in
a traffic congestion, the first thing I do instantly is to reroute even before reaching that part where the heavy
traffic is already built up. I GPS short cuts and alternative ways. In that way, I can avoid the hassle.

ð 1 Bạn có thích đi du lịch bằng ô tô khi còn nhỏ không? Đó là một trong những điều tôi ghét phải làm hồi còn nhỏ
vì say xe hay chuyển động. Ồ! Tôi không thể chịu được cảm giác ngột ngạt đó. Sau đó, tôi sẽ nôn. Hầu hết thời
gian, tôi không thể tận hưởng một chuyến đi vui vẻ, và điều đó thật khó chịu.

ð 2 Bạn thích loại xe nào? Là một phụ nữ mới bắt đầu lái xe, tôi thấy những chiếc xe nhỏ phù hợp với phong cách
và kỹ năng của tôi nhất chủ yếu vì nó dễ điều khiển, đặc biệt là khi lái xe trong thành phố. Ý tôi là, tôi không bị lạnh
chân chút nào. Trên hết, SUV và xe tải rất hoàn hảo cho các chuyến đi gia đình và các hoạt động ngoài trời vì
chúng có thêm không gian. Vì vậy, đó là sự lựa chọn hàng đầu khác của tôi.

ð 3 Bạn thích là lái xe hay là hành khách hơn? Trong hầu hết các trường hợp, tôi chọn là người lái xe vì tôi là người
kiểm soát. Điều đó có nghĩa là tôi có thể dừng ở bất cứ đâu bạn muốn, đi bất kỳ đường nào, bất kỳ lối tắt nào
phù hợp với giờ đi làm của tôi. Chưa kể, tôi cũng thích di chuyển với tốc độ của riêng mình và đến đích đúng giờ,
không hề vội vàng.

ð 4 Bạn thường làm gì khi bị Kẹt xe? Bất cứ khi nào tôi biết có khả năng mình bị tắc nghẽn giao thông, điều đầu
tiên tôi làm ngay lập tức là định tuyến lại ngay cả trước khi đến đoạn đường đã kẹt xe đông đúc. I tìm GPS
đường tắt và các cách thay thế. Bằng cách đó, tôi có thể tránh được những rắc rối.

7. Barbecue

1.Do Vienamese people like barbecues? Definitely, we love barbecues. it's been popular ever since it
existed. You can find barbecue vendors everywhere in the market streets.

2.What kind of food do you like to eat for barbecue? Well, basically everything, these gastronomical
delights are too enticing to refuse, especially when you pass-by busy streets and smell the aroma.

3.Would you like to have a barbecue with your family or your friends? Well as for me it would be both;
since these people are both my world and they are equally important to me. They make time more enjoyable
when I am around them so I would definitely prefer to spend quality time over barbecues with either of them.

4.Did you have barbecues when you were a child? Well since I was a child, we've been occasionally
having barbecues together with my family. So, I would say that I have and still enjoy barbecues with them as
well as my friends. For instance, we will have barbecues on the busy streets or in the night markets.

biệt là khi bạn đi ngang qua những con phố đông đúc và ngửi thấy mùi thơm.

ð 3.Bạn có muốn tổ chức tiệc nướng với gia đình hoặc bạn bè của mình không? Đối với tôi, nó sẽ là cả hai; vì những
người này đều là cả thế giới với tôi và họ đều quan trọng như nhau đối với tôi. Họ làm cho thời gian thú vị hơn khi
tôi ở bên cạnh họ, vì vậy tôi chắc chắn muốn dành thời gian chất lượng cho bữa tiệc nướng với một trong hai
nhóm người.

ð 4.Bạn có ăn thịt nướng khi còn nhỏ không? Kể từ khi tôi còn là một đứa trẻ, chúng tôi đã thỉnh thoảng tổ chức tiệc

1 Do you like looking at yourself in the mirror? How often? To be honest, I do but not as often as others would. I
just need to check myself once in a while. Luckily, I ain’t a fan of make-up so I don’t have the need to keep on looking at
the mirror. I guess I just need to look fairly good and decent.

2.Have you ever bought mirrors? If my memory serves me right, it was only when I relocated to my dorm a couple
of years ago. I wasn’t expecting that the room would be barren and without any furniture. I had to ask my friend to go
shopping with me and we had a whale of a time

3.Do you usually take a mirror with you? Honestly, I don’t. I rely mostly on tinted car windows so I can check out my
reflection or use public bathroom mirrors. It’s not an essential part of my “to bring” list. In addition, I can simply use the
camera function on my phone if I really need to.

4.Would you use mirrors to decorate your room? No, I am not a fan of using mirrors to beautify my room. Honestly,
I tend to be scared of it, since there’s a myth that it’s bad feng-shui especially if the mirror faces the bed. With this, I only
have one mirror in my room and it only has one main function.

1 What kinds of websites do you often visit?
Well, it varies. If I'm swamped with studies, I usually visit educational sites to gather resources or get aid
with the tasks at hand. However, on a leisure day, I frequently check entertainment websites, so it depends
from time to time.

2 What is your favourite website?

At the moment, I've been spending a lot of time on Zalo, which is a Vietnamses version of Yahoo. I'm really
into it since it's a comprehensive site where I can get entertainment, news, social events, and more.

3 Are there any changes about the websites you often visit?
No, I don't believe so. I'm always scrolling or surfing the internet, but the websites I visit all look the
same. The names, logos, categories, and other elements have all remained the same for as long as I can
remember, so I doubt there have been any recent changes.

4 What kinds of websites are popular in your country?

Well, I don't have a concrete answer because different people visit various websites. But based on what
I've witnessed in my circle, frequently favored websites are usually IELTS Simon, Youku, Taobao, and so on.

Not as frequent when I became older. But I do remember my parents or my aunts took me to the local

Basically yes. Since my friends and I are all movie lovers, and we love going to the cinema to watch movies
that we enjoy. It's a good way for us to unwind when the exam is over.

3 Do you still enjoy watching the movie you loved as a child?

Well, not at all, but maybe a few would still attract me, like Harry Potter and Sorcerer's stone which is the
first movie of Harry Potter Series. Whenever I see it on TV, I still enjoy watching it.

Well, if the movie is something I really enjoy, then I would watch it in the cinema with my friends since it

1 Do you like drawing?
Well, not really. In fact, It's the last thing I would do because I don't have talent in that. It's a bit hilarious but I
can only draw lines and shapes.

2 Do you like to go to the gallery？

Not really. First of all, there isn't any chance since I’m not sure where the galleries are in my place. On top of that,
I don’t fancy any kinds of artworks as I find them mediocre. I guess, I don’t have an artistic taste.

3 Do you want to learn more about art？

Sorry but I don't want that. I would rather learn something else besides arts. I'm more inclined to do experiments
in the laboratory or answer Math problems. So, learning arts would be the last thing I would pick.

Well, sort of, since I am still using emails to communicate with my colleagues at work , and also when I need
to send files and drafts for my boss since he is based abroad.

Well, if it's work related, I would definitely send emails to my boss and co-workers. Also, when I need to
communicate with other companies, I would use emails for business purposes.

3 Is sending emails popular in your country ?

I think it's not as popular as the messaging apps like Zalo, since this tool is more convenient and almost all
local people are using this to communicate.

4 Do you think sending emails will be more or less popular in the future?
Basically, there's a chance that it can become less popular in the future, since applications keep on developing
and developers may come up with a new idea and replace emails in the future.

1 Do you like taking photos?

well yes, I do, however, I don't think I have the skill for it since what I usually do is just pointing and
shooting, so the result is pretty plain and it’s nothing fantastic.

2 Do you like taking selfies?

Well, sometimes I will take a selfie if I see a beautiful background or when I am traveling to another city or
country and I find these situations suitable for it. But if I am only at home or ordinary places, I won't.

3 What is your favourite family photo?

well, my favorite family photo was taken 3 years ago when my older brother got married. At that time, all of
our family members gathered together and everyone was so happy, I believe it was a wonderful and
meaningful event.

4 Do you want to improve your photography skills?

Well, actually I am currently trying to improve that skill, since I am not really good at taking photos, but I am
only using YouTube videos as my guide and did not enroll in any formal classes.

1 Do you often remember your dreams?

Honestly, I can hardly recall any of my dreams after waking up. Sometimes, I manage to visualize a dream
in graphic detail just because that dream does bring some strong emotions after I wake up. Besides, most of
them are very vague and I only remember the odd things and images.

2 Do you share your dreams with others? (or are you interested in others' dreams？）
By all means. I suppose that dreams represent people's current psychological stress or struggles that
they express themselves in an environment considered safe. Therefore, when I listen to them speaking about
their dreams, I can get an insight into their body, mind and spirit.

3 Do you think dreams have special meanings？

Absolutely, I strongly believe that our inner subconsciousness gets activated while we are dreaming. Many
scientists and engineers have found solutions to a problem in their dreams. The burning desire of finding things
which have not happened gives us the ability to come up with a solution through our dreams.

4 Do you want to make your dreams come true?

Most certainly, but I know it would be impossible. This is simply because most of my dreams are quite far-
fetched and not many people would even dare doing it. I mean, I can still try, but I have to prepare myself for the
worse, sometimes even every night depending on how busy my mind is at that particular moment in time.

There are too many to mention. Walk-in buyers are able to buy clothes for men and women, plenty of
cheap household articles, accessories, tourist souvenirs and other fascinating stuff. You name it, they
can be there.

2 Do you prefer to go shopping in the shopping mall or on the street market?

Definitely, in shopping malls. Due to the fact that they are usually one-stop-shopping areas. I mean,
everything is in there, right? Not only can I purchase the goods that I need, but also I can hang out in some
entertainment centers or chill out in cozy restaurants if my feet get tired.

3 When was the last time you went to a street market?

That must be during the last holiday break. I passed by a newly-opened flea market at the road-side of
my city and found some affordable second-hand books on one of the stalls. Luckily, I was able to haggle two
famous books there.

4 Are there many street markets in Vietnam?

Indeed. As a matter of fact, Vietnam is best known for its fantastic business streets. From roadside
stalls to large-scale modern shopping malls. Also, most modern cities in the country features special
business streets, where local products are on sale.

Well, I usually prioritize the task in the morning and I would try my best to finish them as soon as possible so
that I would have time to sleep in the afternoon and have more leisure time at night.

I think when there's not enough time, it will be a struggle to organize your timetable since everything would
be under pressure. As a result, it would be so hard to allocate time.

4 Do you like being busy?

To be honest, I don’t. Because it gives me a lot of pressure. As a result, it makes me feel stressful.
That’s why I dislike whenever I am being busy.

1. What will you do if you find something lost by others?

Of course, I would immediately report it to the lost and found office. There, they could easily identify
the owner of the object. Either way, I would just post it on my social media so my friends would recognize it
as well as the owner.

2. Do you report to the police when finding something lost by others? Why?
As for me, I just report to the community office whenever I see a lost item. In my community, the
police station is kind of in a far distance so I could hardly go there. I trust the community office in our place
so I just bring to them a lost item I found.

3. Have you ever lost things?

Frankly speaking, I guess, it has been a very common thing for me. I am always careless and
mindless on my personal stuff. I hate this personality of me so I really want to change it.

4. Will you post on social media if you lose your item?

Well, it depends upon the value of the item I have lost. If that is a symbolic or lavish item, I would

18. Mobile phone

1 What was your first mobile phone?

Actually, it was a Motorola Flip-phone. That was quite some time ago now. Mobile phones were much
more basic then and very different from the smartphones we have nowadays.

2 Do you often use your mobile phone for texting or calls?

That's a good question. Personally speaking, I normally use my phone for calls because I can just easily
send a message through Zalo. However, if it is an urgent matter, I choose to give someone a call to show the
seriousness of the concern.

3 Will you buy a new one in the future?

Absolutely, if given a chance and financial stability, I would love to purchase a new device for the reason
that I have been using my current phone for the last 5 years, so the functions are quite outdated compared to
those that were recently released on the market.

4 How has your mobile phone changed your life?

In general, our mobile phone has changed our attitudes and expectations. For instance, if people are
late for a meeting, they are expected to notify others by calling on their mobile phones. It is no longer necessary
to agree on when and where to meet. People can just call each other on their mobile phones and say where
they are at the moment.

19. Memory

1 Why do some people have good memory while others just don't?
Well, I guess others are blessed with good memory which they might have inherited from their
parents, so genes may play a factor here. Aside from that, when you are at a young age like in middle school,
your memory is quite sharp.

2 Why do more people rely on cellphones to memorize things?

I guess more people nowadays rely too much on their smartphones since it has a lot of features where you
can not only take photos but also can surf the internet to get information. So that's why they are quite
dependent on it.

3 Are you good at memorizing things?

To be honest, whenever I need to recall or memorize things, it seems quite easy for me to retain certain
information, so compared to others, I would have to consider myself above average I guess.

4 Have you ever forgotten something that was important?

Yes, I did, once I have forgotten about my boyfriend's birthday because I was so preoccupied with my
studies and didn't realize that on that particular day, it was his birthday already.

20. Daily routine

1 What is your daily study routine? Basically, I tend to wake up early morning everyday even though I
don't have class on the weekends. It's just my biorhythm. So, from Monday to Friday, I am busy with school
stuff but on Saturday and Sunday, it would be for my leisure time.

2 Have you ever changed your routine? Well, a couple of times I have. When there's an unexpected
event or things that I have to do, I would have to rearrange my schedule for the day or if it's a vacation or
holidays, it will definitely change.

3 Do you think it is important to have a daily routine for your study? Actually yeah, since it creates a
good habit. In this way, I'll be able to finish my tasks on time and avoid procrastination. As a result, I won't be
under pressure and have even enough time for myself to do other stuff.

4 What part of your day do you like best? Well, I think it would be the time when I wake up since I am a
morning person. Morning means another day and another hope, so I am grateful each day I am awake. Plus, it
also means I can be productive so that's why I like it best.

1.Where is your favorite place to meet with your friends? My bosom buddies and I usually hit the high-
end malls because we are all certified shopaholics. Nine times out of ten, we spend time hanging out and
having a shopping spree to clear our minds off things and release our pent-up energy from our hectic academic
life. Every once in a while, we also spend time in the pubs to pop bottles of champagne and live a little.

2.Do you think there are some places more suitable for meeting with of hers? I guess VIP areas at
restaurants and cafes would be ideal for business deals with a client because they can demonstrate
professionalism. What's more, such places are normally tranquil that you can even hear a pin drop. But, If
you're only getting together with close pals, you can choose random places to have a whale of a time like the
local zoo, themed parks and even mall arcades.

3.Are there any differences between your favorite meeting places in the present and in your
childhood? Actually, there is a world of difference between them. Because there were fewer recreational
venues to visit when I was just a knee-high to a grasshopper, we used to gather in natural parks and old-
fashioned and shabby movie houses. But nowadays, we not only have shopping malls but also amusement
parks, fancy and state-of-the-art theatres, you name it. so I can just pick one according to my mood.

4. Why are some meeting places better than others? Well, both our personal biases and tastes can be
attributed to this feeling. For one, Because of the chic and cozy ambiance, certain places might seem like
home. Or perhaps it has been a habit for someone to frequently visit this location, causing them to feel a sense
of nostalgia whenever they are around it. Others might feel a little bit off, not because they are unfamiliar with
the location, but because the atmosphere, interior, and mood of the place do not fit their needs and
preferences.

22. Collect things

1. Do you collect things?
No, I don’t. I used to, but that didn’t work for me. I’m a messy person, so if I collect stuff, it’d be all over the
place. I want to get rid of clutter as doing so cleans up the chaos that is in my life. Ever since I read Maria
Kondo’s best seller, "The life-changing magic of Tidying Up" I packed up my collection in a big box, and
stored them in the attic. My room is spick-and-span ever since; no longer topsy-turvy.
2. Are there any things you keep from childhood?
No, unfortunately, I’ve lost most of them. They’ve gotten misplaced or damaged over time. Good thing, I’ve
still got an album full of childhood memories; snapshots of milestone moments, such as my graduation day, or
an important family event.
3. Would you keep old things for a long time? Why?
I probably wouldn’t. Knowing myself, a messy person, those things would be lost or add to the clutter in my
room. Besides, I have the itch to update my stuff to the latest upgrades. For example, I’ve traded my second-
generation smartphone for the newest one.
4. Where do you usually keep things you need?
The things I immediately need are usually cash, my smartphone, and my notebook. I keep them anywhere
visible, so I could easily locate them. They’re either inside a bag or a wallet. As for toiletries, or cosmetics, they
are where they should be; on a rack in the bathroom or on top of my vanity table.

1 Do you often feel bored?
I rarely feel bored, actually. I’m always quite busy – I’ve got my studies, sporting activities and a fairly busy
social calendar. I’m a very active person and I never seem to have time for all the things I want to do – so I’ve
certainly no time to get bored.
2 What kinds of things would make you feel bored?
When I feel bored it’s usually when I’m commuting and stuck in traffic. I find travelling by car quite
frustrating in the big city, and it really affects my mood when there are big traffic jams. So, getting stuck in traffic
or moving really slowly in traffic makes me feel both frustrated and bored.
3 What would you do if you feel bored?
If I feel bored I usually get quite annoyed, and that makes me want to talk to friends to get things off my
chest. So, usually I will message my friends or give them a call and talk about my feelings, ask them about their
day, gossip about daily life… things like this. This kind of thing usually relieves my boredom and frustration
temporarily.
4 Do you think school is boring
I used to think so until I was locked down at home and had to take online courses every day because of the
Covid-19. I suddenly found that the classroom was so amusing, my classmates and roommates were so cute,
and the activities after classes were so colorful. Even though I have returned to the campus now, I still believe
so.

24. Talents

1. Do you have a talent, or something you are good at? Quite frankly, I believe that I am quite proficient
at drawing and sketching. I really enjoy drawing pictures of different things, animals, and landscapes during my
free time. It has also been my way to relax and release pressure.
2. Was it mastered recently or when you were young? Actually, my parents noticed that I have been a
talented artist ever since I was young. If I can remember it clearly, I started drawing pictures at around five
years old. In fact, my parents put some of them on the wall in my bedroom and I still have them until now.
3. Do you think your talent can be useful for your future work? Why? Definitely! As a matter of fact, I
decided to take up a major related to arts since I have been really fascinated with it. I made up my mind to
pursue a career in arts and design, and hopefully, I can exhibit my artwork in my own gallery someday.
4.Do you think anyone in your family has the same talent? Well, that's a tough one. I guess my father is
also quite good at drawing too. When I was just starting out, he would always guide and teach me some
methods when sketching. However, he chose not to go after a career in arts.

25. Sitting down

1 Where is your favorite place to sit?
My favourite place to sit is in the balcony of my home. I have a lot of plants there, a comfortable chair, a
small bookshelf – I love my balcony – and it’s south-facing too, so gets plenty of sunlight.
2 Do you always sit down for a long time?
I often sit down on my balcony and read or just let my thoughts drift off for a while. I enjoy sitting and resting
for quite a long time. I’m not a social person, so in my free time I like to be alone sitting down.
3 Do you feel sleepy after you sit down for a while?
I feel a little sleepy maybe. It depends on whether I’m tired or not. Generally, I sleep quite regular hours, so
I don’t feel tired until bedtime.
4 When you were a kid, did you usually sit down on the floor?

No, I did not. My mom attaches great importance to being clean and neat. Ever since I had a memory, she
has repeatedly taught me not to sit on the floor, which would stain my trousers and leave a negative impression
on my peers and their parents. Therefore, I always avoid doing this.

26. Old buildings

1. Have you ever seen some old buildings in the city? Of course, I have already seen a lot of ancient
buildings in my city. HCM city is known for its rich cultural heritage, so it means that we have preserved a lot of
the old buildings.
2. Do you think we should preserve old buildings in cities? I guess, it depends upon the value of the old
buildings. If the building has a historic value, then we should keep them, so the future generations will still see
them. As for the old buildings without any significance, we should replace them and focus on building a new
one now.
3. Do you prefer living in an old building or a modern house? Personally, living in a modern house is better
than in an old building. Modern houses are more convenient, suitable and comfortable and safer for living.
Compared with old buildings, the safety of it is not always being ensured since the facilities or infrastructure of it
has been old.
4.Are there any old buildings you want to see in the future? Why? To be honest, I don't have much
interest about any kind of building whether it's old or new. I feel that they don't have much benefit or value to
me. I'll rather go shopping or go mountain climbing than to see them.

27. Watch

1. Do you wear a watch? Yes, I do. In fact, I'm wearing it right now. As you can see, its a digital timepiece. It
has several useful functions; it tells not just the time but monitors my heart rate and such. Its synched with
some apps on my phone, so when I get a notification there, it pops up right here too.

2. Have you ever got a watch as a gift? Yes, I have. When I was a kid, my dad gave me an analog timepiece.
Unlike an Apple watch, it had physical buttons and metallic hands. It runs on batteries. And my grandfather
once gave me a mechanical watch that has a crown I had to wind to make it work.

3. Why do some people wear expensive watches? You know, people always want to jump on the
bandwagon not only to keep up with the trend but also to show off. nowadays high-end watches have become
a trend so if you wear one yourself, it can be an indicator of your high social status.

4.Do you think watch is important for you? Why? No, not really. Its important, but not vital. I've got my
smartphone with me and it does more than a watch can do. Besides, I don't need a watch as I have my mom.
She always tells me, "time for dinner, time to take a shower, time to go to school." Have you ever seen a watch
that is more compelling than your mom?

28. Computer

1. In what conditions would you use a computer? Well, I use computer all the time. I use for my
education, for entertainment and for business. I use it in my daily life since this is where I attend online classes,
watch funny videos and attend meetings with my clients.

2. When was the first time you used a computer? If I am not mistaken, the first time I used my computer
was when I was 5 years old. It was my daddy's computer that I first used. I still remember, his computer was an
old-fashioned one with a large screen and a small camera on top of it.

3. What would your life be like without computers? If computer is not invented, our life might have been
so simple and traditional. In our daily transactions, we will just rely on writing letters. That is quite a long
process and we will not progress fast if there are no computers.

4.In what conditions would it be difficult for you to use a computer? It would be so hard to use a
computer if the buttons stopped working. I mean, if some letters in the keyboard are not working anymore, it
would be hard for you to complete a message whenever you type something. So, when all the parts of our
computer is working, we should take care of it properly.

29. Advertisements

1 What kinds of advertisements do you watch? I detest adverts and I get annoyed when they come on
TV or on apps on my phone. There are all kinds of adverts and I try to ignore them or skip them if I can. There
are adverts for pretty much any product or service you can imagine.

2 Where can you see advertisements? Online, on mobile apps, on websites, on the subway, in elevators.
There are adverts pretty much everywhere in our lives where we are in commercial places, cities, malls,
transport facilities, online, everywhere.

3 Have you ever bought something because of its advertisement? Yes, I have, subconsciously. That’s
how advertising works, you get presented with ideas when you see adverts and then they affect the decisions
you make. I recall buying lots of meal deals because of adverts I’ve seen online or in the elevator at work on
screens.

4 Do you watch advertisements from the beginning to the end? Usually not. As I said before, I try to
ignore them or skip them. But If I’m standing in the elevator going to the 18th floor, and there is nothing else to
look at, I find myself watching the adverts on the TV screens there, over and over again, so I guess I do watch
some adverts from beginning to end. That’s how the power of advertising works!

30. Reading habits

1 Do you often read books? When? not really. Reading is very time consuming and I need a comparatively
quiet place to read. So you know it’s not easy to have such a condition for me like have a long period of time as
well as a quiet environment. Um yeah hopefully I could read more in the future.

2 Are your reading habits now different from before? Sure I enjoyed comic books a lot when I was young
because they’re very romantic and funny to read. But now i’m more into historic books and classic literature
because they talk deeply into the reality.

3 Have you ever read a novel that has been adapted into a film? Well I would say the opposite. I read the
novel after I watched a movie, like the one called call me by your name. I really liked the movie a lot I liked it so
much that I bought the novel afterwards, but I still think the movie is more tasteful.

4 Which do you prefer, reading books or watching movies? Well it depends. If it’s something like comedy
or documentary, I would definitely go for the movies because they’re more vivid and it’s just funnier to see the
real thing. However, if it’s something about history, I would read the books because there are more details in
the book, and you know the movie can never go back to shoot the real thing.

31. Evening time

1. Do you like the morning or evening? Definitely a morning person, I like to get up early and get things done
while I feel fresh and energized. I tend to feel a little lazy in the afternoons. So I try to do all the most important
things I have to do in the morning and then the less urgent things later in the day.

2. What do you usually do in the evening? In the evening, I like to do cooking, watch dramas and do yoga.
Also I think walking also helps me release stress. Talking to friends also helps me to know about everything
that has been going around in their life. Doing these things helps me to reflect on myself; also, it is like a stress
reducer.

3. What did you do in the evening when you were little? Why? Well, I used to spend the evenings with my
parents because they are always very busy with work during the day. I guess that is also why I always look
forward to it all the time. We would often have family movies at night or sometimes, we would camp out in our
backyard to see the twinkling stars in the sky.

4. Are there any differences between what you do in the evening now and what you did in the past?
There's more homework and less walking for starters, I think there's more alone time too, I mean, I have more
solo activities.

32. Sports
1 What sports do you like?
Definitely badminton. Every weekend, I would book a court with my friends and spend a whole afternoon in
the stadium. If it is already fully booked, we will play on the side of the street. Although it is less formal and less
engaging, nothing can stop us from enjoying this sport.
2 Where did you learn how to do it?
I teach myself. I have never received formal training, like signing up for a course or finding a coach. Initially,
I learned how to play badminton from my classmate back in high school. He taught me basic skills, like how to
hold and swing the bat. But that is all.
3 Did you do some sports when you were young?
Yes, I used to be quite into roller skating back in primary school. The first thing I did after school was to put
on the skates and go to the park next to my apartment. But ever since I accidentally broke my bone, my parents
have prohibited me from taking part in this sport.
4 Do you think students need more exercise?
Yes, I do. Nowadays, junk food with an excessive amount of sugar and salt is extremely popular among
teenagers. Meanwhile, the various video games glue them to the screens of cellphones, computers, and TVs,
preventing them from participating in sports. As a result, the obesity rate of students is soaring. They surely
need more exercise to keep fit and healthy.
