Coach Tips for Rewriting Life Stories Part 2

The Reframing Activity is an important and pivotal aspect of this program. This is the key to
unlocking the blessings hidden within the curses of your clients’ life stories. Reframing should
be discussed during a session. If you have your own story to share, this is a good place to do it.
You may also want to give examples, so that your clients can see how other people have
reframed their stories. Then, looking at ways to reframe their own experiences can be given as
homework or completed during a session.
The Uncovering Lies Activity is long and private and is meant to be done as homework. After
completing the initial activity, there is a 7-day component. As a coach, your role would be to
establish a way to hold the client accountable for completing the 7-day activity. Arrange to email
or text your client daily, at an established time, or be with them when they set an alarm to remind
themselves.
The Changing Beliefs activity is a helpful tool for working with your clients to change their core
limiting beliefs, that they identified in the Questioning Your Beliefs activity. You can help them
identify the new, more empowering belief as well as find examples and evidence to help them
shift the belief. This activity is meant for you to do with them, rather than being an at-home
assignment.
When working with your client to help them Identify What They WANT, the first 3 sections of
the activity can be done at home prior to the appointment. However, the last 2 are better
discussed in a session. In the session, go over the answers they wrote regarding what they really
want. The “Yes, I want more of this” activity is great to suggest to clients who are having a
difficult time determining what they want. The “Digging Deeper into Why” activity is a great
process to do with your client. They will go through their core desires in each area of their life
and you will go through a series of “why” questioning to help them get to the core desire
motivating their surface level desire.
