Steve is a high school student. He is the eldest in the brood of six.

His father is a construction

worker while his mother is a “labandera”. His other brothers and sisters all go to public schools
that’s why life for them is difficult. Steve as the eldest, does almost all the household chores
before going to school. His parents do not give him the proper attention he needs as they are
always busy with their everyday work and with the smaller children. In school, Steve is well
known to everyone as he often misbehaves earning him the nickname “Jerk”. Maybe, his
behavior is due to what is happening at home. He may not be given the proper care and attention
at home so he thought of gaining it at school. Luckily for him, he has a friend named Dustin who
always reminds him that life is not all about high school life. That is okey to be a “jerk”
sometimes but he has to know what responsibilities and priorities are. There is time to relax and
time to be serious about things.
