It was nighttime when everyone stopped at what they were doing when they heard a cry inside the delivery room,
a baby girl was born, skin so white that they thought her father was some foreigner, her hair so thick, like the grass in the
meadows. As she was in her mother’s arms, she stopped crying and sleeps peacefully, her mother’s tears touched her
chubby cheeks, and she sighed and thank the Lord for a safe delivery. July 12, 2004 was the day Leah Mae Sotto Ucang
was born, she was born in a happy Christian family, they were not rich nor poor, and they were contented of what they
have and share what they have to those in needs. Leah grew up in her mother’s hometown in Bugho, Bagalnga,
Compostela, Cebu, were she was adored by her grandparents. Leah loves to help her grandparents in getting some woods
in the forest, she loves going with her grandpa in his farm, and climb trees. Leah is very talkative and a happy goal lucky
person, her mother taught her to sing, and she sang in their church and one of the pastor wanted to adopt her but she
refused because she wanted to stay with her parents. Everyone loves her, she thought that everything was perfect not until
her grandmother died, her precious and favorite grandmother died. Her grandma promise Leah that she will be present in
her graduation day, but that didn’t happen, Leah was very heartbroken knowing that there is no one that will listen to her
stories about school, and will laugh with her, she was very devastated that she even curse God, she ask God why did he
take her grandma, she cries so hard and didn’t know what to do. It was that time she met her cousins. Leah was a good
student since kindergarten, she always wear her complete uniform, her uniform is so clean, her socks is always white, and
her hair is always in knot. She sang in her graduation day and dedicated it to her grandma. When she was in grade one,
she became an honor student, and she is so happy about it, she is very competitive, when she was in grade two, she
became the president in their classroom and even the little teacher, and they also say that I am the teacher’s favorite.
When she was on grade three, she became more and more competitive but she still can’t overcome her classmates since
she was already in the first section called SSC or Special Science Class, when she was on grade 1-2 her section was called
non-scitech, she was transferred to SSC because a lot of teachers decided it because my grades were good for SSC
student. In grade 5, Leah was interested with a boy, and she was so happy because the boy likes her too, but she stopped
liking him because he was just a bag of garbage, a good for nothing. When she was in grade 6 she became a With High
Honor student and she was so happy about it. When she is already in grade 7, she was so stress because she has to go
through an exam in her dream school which is Compostela Science and Technology High School in short Scitech. It was
one of the best schools in Compostela and she and her other cousin wanted to study there, so she studied really hard in
order to prepare herself about the incoming entrance exam. Leah with her cousin Earl Johann Sotto, both tried really hard
and in the end, their hardships payed off, they both pass and was so happy about it. When the school year started, we face
a lot of hardships, since our school is very strict and has a high standards. But she faced all of those hardships because she
knows that this is part of her life. She became more stress and depress when her parents started to pressure her, comparing
her to others and that she is good for nothing, she can only cry alone and tries hard but still her parents sees her hard
works as nothing. When the pandemic strike, life was never been this hard, and studying was so hard, you can only rely to
yourself and to the internet, but Leah surpasses all of it and tried to make herself more confident and prepared for more
incoming hardships. Leah was also part of the music team in her church, it was her dream since she was a little girl. She is
very active in church, and is very thankful to God that he always make her happy and contented all the time. When Leah
is in Senior high school, she studied at Rosemont Hills Montessori College, it is a wonderful school. And now I am a
grade 12 student, and my strand is HUMSS because I wanted to be a teacher, well my “Parents” wanted me to be a
teacher, my dream course was actually to be a cardiologist or maybe a neurologist, but my parents doesn’t want me to
become one. But even though I cannot take my dream job, at least being a teacher is also one of my dream job since I was
a little kid. I was so thankful to God that he always stays by my side, and never forgets to express his love for me, and I
always prayed to him that may he guides me to my future journey in this life.
