MINUTES OF SECOND ENGLISH LANGUAGE PANEL MEETING 2022

1.0 Chairperson’s Speech

1.1 Meeting began with welcoming speech by Mdm. Zuraiffah (Head of English
Panel) as chairperson. She welcomed all of the English teachers and thanked
them for the support and cooperation given. She explained that the meeting was
held in regards to the PBD assessment for Year 6 as well as English Language
Week and some other matters that will be discussed further.
1.2 She also reminded all committee about the Best Practices Sharing Session that
will be held in the next school meeting, somewhere in October or November. En.
Irwandi suggested that English Panel may share on the Pillow Talk (Teachers’
Sharing Session). The session will be led by Madam Polynica and other English
teachers as facilitators.

2.0 Confirmation of previous meeting

2.1 Mdm. Polynica suggested the previous meeting to be confirmed and it is
supported by Mr. Safri.

3.0 Arising Matters

3.1 No matters arisen.

4.0 PBD Assessment for Year 6
4.1 Year 6 English teachers must update the PBD for Year 6 pupils as the pupils will
be applying for secondary school next year.

Action to be taken: Year 6 English Teachers

5.0 HIP
5.1 Based on the previous GM meeting with the PPD officers, HIP coordinator’s
reminded to collect statistic data using the assessment tool template. All reports
pertaining the programme should be documented.

Action to be taken: HIP Coordinator

6.0 English Language Week

6.1 Pn. Zuraiffah informed that English Panel will be conducting the English
Language Week somewhere in October. All English Panel members must hand-in-hand
promoting and supporting the program. English Panel needs funds to support the
program. She asks the secretary to do English Language Week paperwork and apply for
funds from Baitulmal Limbang Branch.

7.0 Teaching Observation by The Headmaster & Senior Assistant

7.1 HOTS in Lesson Plan must be added to give a great impact in teaching and
learning session in the classroom.

8.0 Other Matters
8.1 Pn. Zuraiffah reminded all English teachers must come to school early at 6.30
a.m. at least (every Wednesday) to support School Library Programme “Santapan Minda
Reading Programme” (SMiRP). The teachers will conduct the programme by telling the
pupils to read English books and giving them some English quizzes. Pupils who can
answer the quizzes would get gifts from the English Panel.
