Good day teacher, my name is, I'm going to talk about one of the 7

wonders of the world, the Roman Colosseum, which through history

has impacted with its predominant structure, and that due to various
criteria was chosen as a wonder.

The coliseum, ranked sixth among seventy five places, announced

in two thousand seven in Lisbon, was the result of a contest over the
Internet and telephone messages, since two thousand until two
thousand seven, in which more than one hundred million votes were
received, organized by a foundation created by the Swiss
adventurer Bernard Weber.

The Coliseum, originally known as Falcon Amphitheater or simply

"Amphitheatrum", is the most famous Roman amphitheater, which
rises in the center of the Italian capital.

It was the largest and most important of the imperial era, with a
capacity of 50,000 spectators, and was used for gladiatorial shows
and other public events, such as recreations of famous battles and
dramas inspired by classical mythology.

Its construction began in the year 72 AD. by order of Vespasiano

and it was inaugurated in the 80, under the command of Tito. It is
188 meters long and 156 meters wide and although the current
height is 48.5 meters at its origin it reached 52 meters.

The Colosseum ceased to be used in the sixth century and in later

centuries it became a quarry of materials. The name Colosseum, for
which it is best known, is thought to come from a nearby statue of
colossal dimensions dedicated to the Emperor Nero.

Currently, the Colosseum has several restorations and maintenance

that make it even better, as a tourist attraction around the world. So
far our report, thank you.
