You’ve been selected to participate in a digital audition and interview for a position with

Carnival Entertainment. Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure the best results for your submission.

✓ Strong skills that emphasize your knowledge and experience with commercial music and techniques found in
modern pop and rock repertoire.

✓ The ability to replicate and cleanly perform all horn licks and phrases as indicated on the charts and/or as dictated
by the Musical Director.

✓ The ability to extend beyond a performer into an entertainer.

1. Play a two octave chromatic scale, starting on low C (ascending/descending) in one breath as fast as
you can execute cleanly.
2. Play two octave major scales starting on low B, up and back in one breath as fast as you can execute
cleanly. Continue on with E and F#

1. Play-along with “You’re Looking Good – 4 Choruses.mp3”, Bb Blues, improvise a bluesy/pop solo
for all 4 choruses. Please demonstrate any altissimo or rock/R&B techniques if possible!

1. “MJ Medley #1” / With Recording

• Play FF through HH. Count-in on the track is to Letter FF in the chart.
2. “Latin Medley #2” / With Recording
• Play V to X in the chart. Count-in on the track is to pickups to Letter V in the chart.
3. “I Want You Back” / With Recording
• Play from the beginning to Letter C. Track begins at the top of the chart. Focus on showmanship during
rests!
4. “Mi Tierra” / With Recording
• Play measures 61 to 69 in the chart. Count-in is to pickups to measure 61.
5. “September” / With Recording
• Play Letter C to F, pause, then skip to Letter J and play from Letter J to End / Count-in is to C and count-
in is to J.
 6. “Sir Duke” / With Recording
• Play Letter D to F. Count-in is to Letter D.
7. “Mi Tierra” (Flute) / With Recording
• Play measures 21 to 41. Count-in is to pickups to measure 21.
8. “Vintage Pop Opener” (Clarinet) / With Recording
• Play measures 131 to 148. Count-in is to pickups to measure 131.

1. Prepare your videos and be ready to share the “non-private” links to the videos!
2. If you have already created an account with HireVue then log back into your account to resume your audition. If
you have not already created a HireVue account then visit the HireVue OpenVue setup page to begin your
audition.
3. Continue your HireVue digital audition and when prompted copy the links to your YouTube audition videos into
response for the corresponding question within HireVue.
