1. Talking about terrorist activities as a matter of national security, in your own opinion, how does our
Government handled the situation in Marawi last 2017?. (50 points)

My personal opinion is that our administration handled the circumstances in Marawi in 2017
poorly. It took five months to reclaim the city, leaving it in ruins and with a death toll, exposing
the Armed Forces of the Philippines' lack of preparation for urban combat. The military and
administration of the Philippines will definitely learn many valuable lessons and insights from
this, but other governments and militaries may also be able to assess their own readiness to
conduct urban operations. With so many lethal improvised weapons entering enemy territory,
our AFP and other law enforcement organizations will suffer significant losses. In addition,
everyone is destroyed by the catastrophe, leaving the city in ruins.

I've come to the conclusion that, by publishing this essay, our government has done everything
it can to stop the crisis. However, the crisis has created a significant hardship for our fellow
Muslims and Filipinos in Lanao Del Sur, which has affected their daily lives for the past five
months. Finally, this catastrophe has given many people a chance, including Filipinos who have
seen firsthand how difficult a conflict like the Marawi crisis can be.
