Using your research and the above analysis, develop a briefing report which will
launch the sustainability policy process in the organisation. Your briefing report
should address the following:
1. Introduction giving an overview of the importance of a sustainability policy
and identifying the relevant current organisational practices relating to the
three (3) of the issues detailed above you will focus on with the policy you
develop.
2. Specify if there are any legal requirements the organisation must consider in
relation to the issues, such as WHS, antidiscrimination, Fairwork, the EPA,
etc.
3. Details of any existing policies and procedures that must be adhered to in
developing and implementing a sustainability policy.
4. Details of any existing policies and procedures that may require adjustment
to align with a new sustainability policy.
5. Proposed scope of the policies you propose to develop to address the issues
you have noted, including a list of headings to be included and a brief
description of each heading.
6. Examples of actions to be taken over the next 12 to 24 months in
implementing the policies. You should identify at least two (2) ideas for
each issue. Include details of timing, resource needs, and likely costs.
7. Recommendations on suitable performance indicators that can be used to
measure environmental performance of the ideas you suggested above.
