    Blessings as you wrap the tefillin around your arm (yad)

    Ba-ruch a-tah Ado-nai, Elo-hay-nu, Melech Ha-o-lam,


    asher kidd-usha-nu b’mitz-vo-tav, vit-tzi-va-nu l’ha-ni-ach te-fe-lin.
    Translation:
    Blessed are you, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, who instills in us
    the holiness of mitzvot by commanding us to put on tefillin.

    Blessings as you place the tefillin on your head (rosh)

    Ba-ruch a-tah Ado-nai, Elo-hay-nu, Melech Ha-o-lam, asher kidd-usha-nu


    b’mitz-vo-tav, vit-tzi-va-nu l’ha-ni-ach te-fe-lin. Ba-ruch shame ka-vod mal-chu-toe
    l’o-lam va-ed.
    Translation:
    Blessed are you, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, who instills in us
    the holiness of mitzvot by giving us the mitzvot of tefillin. Blessed be
    God’s sovereign name throughout all time,

    V-ay-ra-so-tea-ch lee b’emu-nah, vya-da-aht et ado-nai.
    Translation:
    (from Hosea 2:21 - 22)
    I betroth you to Me forever.
    I betroth you to Me with righteousness and justice,
    with love and compassion.
    I betroth you to Me with faithfulness;
    then shall you be at one with Adonai.
