BSCRIM1- BLOCK 8

If I were in Rizal's position, witnessing the distressing circumstances faced by the Igorots during
their exposition in a foreign land, my immediate response would be a profound sense of empathy and
concern. Rizal's strong advocacy for human dignity resonates deeply with me, and I too would find it
utterly unacceptable for my fellow countrymen to be subjected to ridicule and dehumanization. The plight
of the Igorots, stripped of their cultural identity and exposed to ridicule, would ignite a passionate drive
within me to take action and stand up against such injustices.

In today's world, if the exhibition and mistreatment of indigenous communities like the Igorots
were still prevalent, I believe that it would be my moral obligation to contribute to their cause. I would
strive to raise global awareness about this issue through various means, such as social media
campaigns, educational initiatives, and collaboration with organizations dedicated to human rights and
cultural preservation. I firmly believe that education and empathy are powerful tools to combat ignorance
and prejudice, and I would work tirelessly to ensure that such exhibitions are transformed into respectful
showcases of cultural diversity, with the active involvement and consent of the communities themselves.

In conclusion, the story of Rizal's outrage over the Igorots' exhibition serves as a timeless
reminder of the importance of defending human dignity and cultural heritage. If faced with a similar
situation today, I would wholeheartedly embrace the role of an advocate for justice, striving to create a
world where the Igorots, and all marginalized communities, are treated with the respect, understanding,
and empathy they deserve. By standing up against such exhibitions and promoting cultural preservation,
we can honor the legacy of Rizal and work towards a more inclusive and compassionate society.
