- In my opinion, Dr. Jose Rizal was both a brave patriot and a curious boy. He yearned for
knowledge and was always prepared to grasp novel concepts. The early years of Rizal
shaped his enthusiasm for reform and his resolve to uphold every Filipino's rights. As a
young man, Rizal crafted a poem, 'To My Fellow Youth' ('Sa Aking Mga Kababata'). In
this poem, he expresses his profound love for his native language and homeland, the
Philippines.

2. What is the difference between an insurrectionist and a hero?

- An insurrectionist seizes control of a situation and launches a rebellion using weapons
and firearms. But a hero is someone who fights for a cause or a principle; they can do so
nonviolently by inspiring others or violently by utilizing firearms. Their crucial distinction is
that, whereas a hero can inspire change without using violence, an insurrectionist
requires an armed uprising. Finally, what distinguishes them is how they achieve their
goals and influence society. Rizal's heroism stems from his peaceful opposition and
imaginative thought in the cause of Filipino freedom.

3. What do you mean by "A hero represents virtue"?

- "A hero represents virtue" signifies that heroes personify attributes or ethical standards
valued by society. They are often depicted as individuals who display courage, empathy,
fairness, selflessness, and integrity. These values shape their actions and choices,
motivating others to pursue greatness and uphold standards. Heroes frequently
encounter obstacles and ethical dilemmas, underscoring the importance of morality in
attaining success and making changes in the world. In essence, heroes epitomize
standards and integrity.

4. How does El Filibusterismo become the leading voice of the Philippine reform
movement?
- Dr. Jose Rizal's famous creation, "El Filibusterismo," impacted the reform movement in
the country. This remarkable piece of art was influenced by the 1872 execution of
GOMBURZA, three priests whose lives were unfairly taken. Through his storytelling,
Rizal vividly depicted the hardships, exploitation, and prejudice faced by the people
under colonial domination. In his novel, he courageously tackled injustices. It called out
the inequalities that existed in society during that era. By advocating for independence
and the rights of his fellow citizens, Rizal's powerful words sparked a sense of

emphasizes the importance of sticking to one's values in facing difficulties. In a period of
societal divisions and injustice, compassion, as a reminder of empathy, may foster
understanding and togetherness. Addressing systemic discrimination and social injustice
necessitates justice, which is a call for equity and equality. Loving one's nation and
becoming a patriot can motivate people to participate in politics and help their country
grow. Critical thinking and education, which promote intellectual curiosity and lifelong
learning, can help address complex social challenges. Individuals adhering to Rizal's

6. Do you agree with the concept that "The greatest young Filipino, the greatest hero, and
the greatest role model for all Filipinos continues to be Jose Rizal."?
- I completely agree with this concept. A Filipino national hero, Jose Rizal exemplifies
courage, nationalism, and morality. His intelligence, creativity, and activity blossomed
throughout his early years, making him a role model for young Filipinos. His writings,
"Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo," highlighted colonial atrocities while inspiring
national identity. His martyrdom, as evidenced by his death, cemented his position as a
symbol of Filipino resistance. Rizal's life, ideals, and values inspire Filipinos,
representing education, social justice, patriotism, and personal integrity. His influence
extends beyond appreciation, functioning as a moral compass and model citizen whose
