Assignment #2

Art criticism is an important part of criticizing art. It is a way to fully understand the

feelings and emotions that have been conveyed in the art that you are criticizing. Criticizing an

artwork means that you are explaining every detail of the art and fully understanding what the art

conveys and what it means. According to oercommons.org, there are 4 steps on how to critique an

artwork. These 4 steps are crucial in criticizing artwork. These 4 steps are called Description,

where you are describing what you see, Analysis, where you are analyzing what you see,

Interpretation, where you are interpreting what you see, and lastly Judgment, where you are

judging what you see. These 4 steps are vital in criticizing an artwork and to fully understand what

the creator of the art feels and what the art really conveys.
