Find biblical evidence from the statements below to support each Christian belief. There should be one for each belief. Cut and paste them into the
correct boxes but then highlight short phrases or details from each one that you would choose to quote in an exam answer.

TASK 3
Answer the following exam questions in full, in your book. You should aim to use the table above, but this time EXPLAIN how the evidence
supports each point you make.
a) Explain two Christian beliefs about the Incarnation. (4 marks)
b) Explain two beliefs about why God allows suffering in the world. (4 marks)
c) Explain two beliefs about why Jesus died. (4 marks)

TASK 4
You will be asked in your exam about the INFLUENCE of these beliefs. This means how might holding the belief make someone FEEL or THINK
or ACT/BEHAVE.
For example, if a Christian believed that God’s Holy Spirit comforted and guided them, they might reach out to God’s Spirit by turning to prayer in
hard times (ACT), or be reassured and more confident that God was with them (FEEL), or spend time studying relevant parts of the Bible if they
have a decision to make, hoping that God’s Spirit would guide them as they decide (THINK).
Which beliefs above do you think would make a Christian:
(i) Think that God understood their problems and difficulties? (iv) Work hard to change the way they live so that they did
(ii) Feel grateful for their life and existence? more good for other people?
(iii) Encourage others to be strong during hard times, even if (v) Take time to worship God (whether in private prayer or in
God seemed far away? a church service)?

TASK 5

Last lesson you were given a photocopied sheet from the text book - either use it or use the Christianity text book in the classroom.
Read pages 10-11 about God as omnipotent, loving & just.
Then make notes as follows (you don’t need to use a table) IN SENTENCES YOU CAN REVISE FROM:

OMNIPOTENCE GOD AS LOVING GOD AS JUST

What the word means Why God created humans What God decides about
An example of omnipotence How this belief influences Christians to act How this belief influences Christians to act
A key quotation God’s greatest act of love
A key quotation

TASK 6

See pages 24-25 (also on your photocopy) about the afterlife and Christian beliefs.

 From page 24, write your own summary of Christian beliefs about the afterlife, using these terms:
 RESURRECTION, ETERNAL LIFE, GIFT, JUDGMENT, SOULS, ETERNITY
In the box on page 25 is the parable (spiritual story) of the Sheep and the Goats, as told by Jesus to his followers. It seems to tell the story of a final
judgment in which people are divided into two groups by a ‘King’.
a) Why are some of the people rewarded by the King, who welcomes them into his kingdom?
b) Why do you think the others are punished and not rewarded?
c) How do you think Christians today respond to this story?
