1. How would you characterize what Chinese cuisine and practices is?

Answer:

Chinese cuisine can be characterized by the use of strong flavors mainly ginger, garlic, chilies, and shrimp
paste. However, the way Chinese food taste is not just because of flavors they use; it is also associated with the
cooking tools and techniques they used and that’s why it is often connected with their dish names. Chinese
cuisine is often mistaken for fast food since it is quick and cheap, but despite the fact that Chinese people have
spent years learning how to cook and prepare food more quickly, it is not fast food because it calls for skills,
organization, and years of training. Chinese cuisine doesn't really require fancy food presentation or plating; but
it is not also easy to prepare or as simple a dish as it may seem because it requires a lot of passion, effort, and
expertise to make authentic Chinese food.

2. What are the challenges of future food business in China? How do you think China can cope up with
these challenges?

Answer:

Because China has a large, active, and quick-moving population that demands a quick and plentiful
supply of agricultural products to cook food for its people, their impatience has disastrous consequences and
causes agricultural resources to be spoiled by the excessive use of chemicals, antibiotics, hormones, and
pesticides. In fact, their government confirmed in 2016 that more than 500,000 food safety violations had been
documented in just nine months and one in four diabetics worldwide are from their nation, putting their
people's health at risk.

China can, in my opinion, meet these challenges by developing and promoting a sustainable food system,
but doing so is not an easy task. For this reason, they should take note the grandmother of Ms. Matilda Ho's
suggestion to practice "mindful patience," which refers to how to act while waiting. If they do this, it would be
a game-changer, in my opinion, because there are many ways to lessen such environmental footprints if they
are sincere about doing so. Given that they are among the most developed nations in the world, why not
patiently bring back their abundant natural resources by using the advantage and privilege they have?
