CASE ANALYSIS: HR LINKS EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING TO SOCIAL

RESPONSIBILITY

Consider the following questions in context of the present interest in employee volunteerism:

1. If you were working as an HR professional, how would you develop an employee

volunteer program that would lead to great worker engagement?

Aside from the concepts in the case analysis, if I were a HR professional, I would develop

a volunteer program for employees in the following ways to boost employee engagement.

 Effective communication of the program's goals can help employees feel

enthusiastic about and inspired to do their duties, which may inspire them to work

for the organization's vision and objectives.

 In order to enhance employee engagement, organizations should give them with a

peaceful, supportive, stress-free, and healthful environment. A healthy, stress-

free, and happy culture increases employee engagement, productivity, and

motivation.

 Setting up appreciation programs may enhance employee morale and productivity

by making them feel valued for their important contributions to the business.

company's success are recognized. Their morale remains high, and their job

satisfaction levels increase.

 In my role as the employee advocate, I must pay attention to, address, and resolve

issues that employees have regarding to their participation in employee volunteer

programs in order to make them feel appreciated and to avoid conflict.

 To increase employee engagement, a company should share its mission, vision,

and priorities with employees. Even management discusses corporate objectives,

milestones, and successes to employees and encourages them to provide feedback;

this boosts employees' self-esteem, motivation, and engagement.

2. What kinds of activities would you include in an engaging employee volunteer

program?

 Clean up public places

- There is a need to walk around and clean up the city, especially after natural

disasters or similar events. This effort is largely done by non-governmental

organizations to guarantee that everything runs well. You might offer to assist

in such instances and become a member of the organization in charge of

cleaning up public locations such as beaches and parks.

 Educate street children

- NGOs provide schooling to street children. It is feasible because instructors

and other professionals are eager to volunteer their expertise and time to

provide these children with a positive learning experience. There is also no

time constraint. You can spend time with such youngsters once or twice a

week, or as your schedule allows.

 Help victims of domestic abuse

- Domestic violence can affect males, women, or children. NGOs work

tirelessly to provide these individuals with a safe and healthy environment in

which to live. You, too, may provide counseling or other forms of therapeutic

assistance. These are just a handful of the wonderful NGO volunteering

options available.

 Teach new skills

- You could be good at cooking, coding, drawing, or dancing. Whatever it is,

engage with the individuals who are housed by NGOs once or twice a week

and spend time with them teaching them things that you are skilled in. This

manner, you can ensure that your abilities are preserved while also making

appropriate use of your time and work.
