Yes, I believe that there are some of our values that we possess that may
affect our economic status, most common and known is our being late in
all aspects, we call this “Filipino Time” all of us possess this value where
we’ll get ourself ready for a meeting where the time is almost run out, we
don’t usually think that we have to prepare in advance because that’s who
we are. This type of values should not be using all the time, example you
have a job interview you’ll get yourself a one-way ticket to unemployment
line because this type of behavior will indicate laziness and no employer
would hire an individual who is always late, how can you close a deal with
the investor if your not able to attend the meeting on time.
Next is the “Mañana Habit” the “I will do it later” value that we always like
to say whenever we are being ask to do something we always tend to do
it later. If you’ll apply this an office job where paper works is overloaded
on you disk and all you do is holding your phone whole day in office
hours. If you habitually do this it will end up to unemployment. For
example your employer tasked you to finish some paper works and he/she
need that paper works on Thursday and when the time come when you
have enough time to do the task that’s ask you to do by your employer
you didn’t do anything to finish it, soon enough you’ll be one of the
unemployed individual.
