Informative Speech on Philippine Elections: A Democratic Society
The fundamental element of democratic governmental systems is elections.
How so? In a democracy, the administration's leadership is based only on the people's consent. The staging of the electoral process is the primary method for converting that consensus into governmental power. In a democratic society, nevertheless, some presidential candidates indulge in vote-buying instead of advocating their policies, and others abuse the delivery of government services for political gain rather than more significant development goals. All permitted individuals in a democratic nation have the right to be involved in formulating choices that affect themselves, either overtly or covertly. Distributing fake news and misleading information is expected in this form of governance due to its citizens being influenced by what social media posts. What does it imply to be a part of a democratic society, and what is its function in contemporary civilization?
Democracy is constructed on the principles of individual fairness and justice.
Citizens engage in the election system by casting ballots. Voters elect officials to take their place and represent their views, and the leaders work to further the citizens' goals. Democratic elections are fiercely contested. Democracies recognize that protecting basic human rights such as freedom of religious expression, the privilege of being treated equally under the law, and the ability to mobilize and actively engage in social-political life, a viable economy, and civic diversity is one of their primary responsibilities. Opposing groups and democratic candidates must have the freedom of expression, organization, and action to freely criticize the administration and provide citizens with alternative programs and representatives. This is one of the reasons why fact-checking and thorough research are crucial instruments to let sovereignty reign and for the Philippines to develop even further. People are increasingly making decisions based on what they see on Facebook, Tiktok, troll accounts, and other social media platforms. With this, many people spread fabricated information that can affect their beliefs and opinions. Under this regime, people use their voices to end poverty and corruption, which are the main problems of this democratic country. One of the justifications why young people are so crucial in building the world is because of this. Because most politicians in all countries have a history of disregarding youth in favor of programs that favor the elderly, since the elderly are far more inclined to vote.
